So, primarily I will be using this monitor to play my PS1 and PS2 games. I want to use my PS1 Slim for the PS1 games and naturally the PS2 for the PS2 titles.
If I want to play both these consoles in the highest quality, I would want to hook up RGB correct? (I thought RGB was better than component but I've recently read to understand that they are similar?)
If so, my questions are these:
1.) If the PS1's max output is S-video and 240p, is it possible to use component or RGB on a PS1 slim? I know I could play my PS1 games on the PS2, but I'd like to stick with the PS1 console if I can.
2.) To hook up my PS2, all I need is a component cable with a yellow composite cable for sync and some BNC adapters? Then do I set the PVM monitor settings to RGB or component? Would I then set the PS2 to RGB or leave it at YPbPr/YCbCr?
3.) Originally I thought I needed to buy a PS2 Scart cable and then a Female Scart to 4 BNC out cable back into my PVM. Would that allow me to bypass the sync if I had used the component cable method? Which will offer better quality? Most PS2 games are in 480i, and I don't plan on playing any in 480p if that makes a difference.
TL;DR: What's the best way to play PS1 and PS2 games in the highest quality on this particular PVM model, and what do I need to do so?
Any advice given is greatly appreciated!!
Thanks
