Hello everybody,
It's just me or the xbox 360 game cases suck big time. I just got my Ginga Force and before I opened it, looked at the bottom of the case and there was again, one of the case tabs damaged the instructions. This is the 3rd time in 6 months. It's nice to buy new original games but sometimes you have to wonder if it's really worth it, after you open the case and it's not mint anymore without even reading the instructions once. Well, it's Microsoft, right?

Re: XBOX 360 game instructions damaged again during shipping
obligatory "lol instructions" post.
but yeah it's annoying. to be fair i see the same issue with dvd cases, ps3 cases, blu ray cases, etc. shit just gets dinged up. oh well, as long as the disc doesn't pop out of the spindle and bounce around inside the case i chalk it up to a win.

It would be a "lol" to me if i went to game stop and pay $20 for a used one, but when you pay $80 for a new game it sucks big time.

Why did the standard CD jewel cases never have this problem? Bleh! Flimsy crap!

I've bought CDs on multiple occasions where the little bits on the spindle have broken off and the cd falls off of it as a result.
Re: XBOX 360 game instructions damaged again during shipping
This topic should go in the Off Topic forum. 360 cases don't suck any more than normal DVD Amaray cases. There are plenty of problems with most game cases.
-Cardboard boxes (e.g. GBA) easily get crushed.
-Jewel cases (e.g. PS1) can leave indentations of the center spindle onto the manual. The hinges are also prone to break off.
-Amaray cases (e.g. PS2, Xbox, Wii, 360) use potentially damaging clips to hold instructions and have small tabs on the top, bottom, and disc holder molding that can jut into manuals. The clips are also prone to fall off, and the outside jacket can be pushed too hard against the case, leaving a mark.
-Cases for handheld games (e.g. DS, 3DS, PSP, Vita) use clips that invariably leave marks on instructions.
The PS3 case is the best with extra-sturdy, thick lower friction clips (not as good for JP manuals though) and no tabs on the top and bottom. The disc holder molding is also shaped in a way that seems to lower the risk of damaging the manual. It also helps that even if the disc is dislodged (a common problem with all disc cases), BDs are highly resistant to scratches. However, that's after 2 generations of problems. Let's see how Microsoft does next gen.

It's not you I can assure you.kebrank wrote:Hello everybody,

Almost every (japanese) Xbox 360 game I have bought has damage to the instructions.
I have bought every 360 game I own new and sealed, but always (some more, some less) the instructions were damaged when I opened it.
Observation: Discs aren't locked in tight in there holder too. PS3 games I often have a little trouble getting them out of the case, but 360 games sometime come out on their own and really easy if I do so my self.
I haven't had these problems before with most other systems I bought games for, so I conclude that:
Yes, xbox 360 game cases suck big time!

Ps: definitely off topic thread indeed

The annoying thing with 3DS, like with many PC games, is the trend of games having very short or no printed manuals.Ganelon wrote: -Cases for handheld games (e.g. DS, 3DS, PSP, Vita) use clips that invariably leave marks on instructions.

I find that quite depressing as I love colorful manuals filled with illustrationsBrianC wrote:The annoying thing with 3DS, like with many PC games, is the trend of games having very short or no printed manuals.

CHECKPOINT!
Re: XBOX 360 game instructions damaged again during shipping
Of the 33 Xbox 360 games I currently own (24 of them Japanese), I would say only 2 of them have manuals that I would consider noticeably bent (only one of them seriously so), and both are JP imports that I bought from Play-Asia. 7 of my games were purchased used (1 US and 6 JP), and none of those have bent/damaged manuals.
