Hello!

So - I didn't want to bump the 6-7 page long thread for this - it's turned in to a bit of a semi development thread and I'm hoping to let that one slide off for a while to continue most of my discussions in the dev forum as before. But, I'm aware there's a few people here who have donated $1 to the cause of n0rtygames and have placed on the leaderboards.

If anyone is playing this with the appropriate level of psychosis and fancies a bit of light hearted fun, I've announced a competition to win a free copy of our next game and more importantly - have your scores hard coded in to a hall of fame when I deploy this huge patch which is going to fully address balance, scoring and other things.

If you have any feedback (Negative criticism is more than welcome, as it makes the game better) - please head over to the Development forum and contribute to the thread there. It's usually on the top page due to ongoing chat. There's lots of lovely people in there.

Yeah no problem. If anyone else is actively playing and wants to take a spot in the patches hall of fame with their Arcade initials instead - just shout. That'd be kinda cool actually..

Certainly can! So basically, after the feedback I received on Chronoblast I'm addressing quite a few issues - more options to help the cabinet players who don't have easy volume controls and allow music to be switched off, along with other things. You get the idea. The biggest thing of course, is a scoring system that shifts away from a Psikyo style where survival has such a massive impact on your score and to a more balanced system where you can miss, but still stand a chance of recovery. (Although you still have to game the system to get a decent score)

Because of the patch and the limitations with XBLIG scoring - I've decided to not only retain the old gameplay ruleset - but also add a "Hall of Fame" so that the people who put the time in on the original build have a small, but nice little thing to boast about with regards to the game. This will basically be composed of the top 20 high scores made visible to me via the high score system, or received either via a photo here, or on my facebook page - at the point where I am about to upload this rather large patch.

It's largely because I'm really hoping that players will move over to what is essentially the "black label" patch for the game - offering a steadier difficulty curve and deeper - yet slightly more accessible - scoring system. I don't want to upset the players that have been putting in the time to get to the top 10-20, so I'm offering up a few hours of my time to make sure those guys are engraved in the game so to speak. Figured I'd open it to everybody and leave my xbox seeding scores as regularly as possible.

Also, due to the fact not everyone has xbox gold membership - I'm accepting score postings outside of the game.. So long as a score gets waved in front of my face - it'll count.

Nothing overly serious, not really a tournament of sorts - just a nice permanent stamp on a doujin game for those who can be bothered..

Thanks to those who have played recently and actually played for score. There's been a few! Unfortunately due to the Peer to Peer nature of the scoreboards (and the fact that some people are offline) I can't actually say 100% that I've got *everybody's* score.

So, I spent about an hour or so parsing the save data off my xbox. If you have a score and it's not listed here (and you'd like it to be) - please post it!

@msm: You probably do have a higher score, but as I'm currently developing the patch I'm not really able to leave my xbox running as a server for the high score stuff. So it's all operating peer to peer at the moment!

So let me get this straight..

I'll call them Console A (The one that works) and Console B (the one that doesn't)

Console A has a profile with gold membership.
Console B has a profile that you /think/ has gold membership.

Presumably you are 'recovering' your profile on Console B. The scores are all saved locally. There is /no/ online leaderboard because this is basically impossible with XBLIG unless someone else is seeding scores. You automatically create a session when you start the game to be shared with other players.

You won't see the scoreboards on Console B, because they're saved on Console A. If it's the same profile, take a USB stick and go to ->

* System, Storage, Hard Drive...
* Find "Storage for chronoblast"
* Copy the files you find to a memory stick
* Take memory stick, copy these to your other xbox
* Cross your fingers, this /should/ work - since it's isolated storage. Then again, it might not.

Funny you should mention that - I tried that last week and tried it again just now.

There is no "Chonoblast" entry under Settings, System, storage, hard drive, Games and Apps. I wanted to copy "Chronoblast" from my main (download) S console to my lug-around Elite with a USB flash drive. I guess I'll have to use my download list for that.

I figured it's an XBLIG thing ...

EDIT: Never mind, scratch that - it's buried in the "Indie Games" entry.

Perhaps you misunderstood me, n0rty. I have a gold account. However, the second console (i.e. not the one my account was created on, but one I have dowloaded my gold account profile to) doesn't seem to work (and in a different way to the way described in that thread). My main console lets me play ranked and upload scores. The second one lets me play ranked, but doesn't display any leaderboard scores - it just goes to the local high score table. Having said that, I haven't checked to see if it still uploads the scores anyway.

So let me get this straight..

I'll call them Console A (The one that works) and Console B (the one that doesn't)

Console A has a profile with gold membership.
Console B has a profile that you /think/ has gold membership.

Presumably you are 'recovering' your profile on Console B. The scores are all saved locally. There is /no/ online leaderboard because this is basically impossible with XBLIG unless someone else is seeding scores. You automatically create a session when you start the game to be shared with other players.

You won't see the scoreboards on Console B, because they're saved on Console A. If it's the same profile, take a USB stick and go to ->

* Copy the files you find to a memory stick
* Take memory stick, copy these to your other xbox
* Cross your fingers, this /should/ work - since it's isolated storage. Then again, it might not.

Pity you can't get these things to work with the cloud. i.e. store the "local" save someplace where both consoles can get at it.

Still not really following why I don't just get different leaderboard scores on either console, mind. It is almost as if the second console isn't recognising that I have gold membership (and only for this game - other games and apps realise I have).

*nervous twitch* - I'm staying away from that! Cloud saving? Never touched it, never gonna... Weird stuff.

In other news I shall be closing off the score submissions on the 1st April. Any scores received after that date will not be counted for hard coding in the patch I'm afraid!
