I'm waiting six months before I get one. Beyond Project Gotham 3, there's just not anything at launch that I'm all that interested in. Besides, I'm spending far too much on arcade stuff right now to justify the cost of purchasing one.

I cancelled my preorder - the games are too expensive at launch - insane prices of up to 50ukp (currently $87). It's just a step too far even for me - I can't justify that at all. I'll get one somewhere down the road as I'm a big user of XBL, but 50ukp for a fucking game? Absolutely no way in hell - that's taking the piss.

I have no plans of buying Xbox 360, but if the prices drop and if there are any video games that are worth purchasing... Then I'd be more inclined on buying it.

i can't believe what video games retailers can get away with in the USA.
pay now, get your stuff later! lend us money with a 0% rate, a once in a lifetime opportunity.
i'll do as usual, buy the console after the price drops, and meanwhile buy the games that i feel might become scarce later.

Hey Blood flowers I read that right? £50 a game for xbox360? thats madness £30 max I'm prepared to pay.

I think I'll wait maybe a year definetly a few months.

I'm after project gotham 3 myself, resident evil, virtua fighter 5 and final fantasy online are titles I want to play.

QUESTION: Can the xbox 360 lie on its side? its a big tower with vents but can it? If i recall its slightly curved on the sides.

November is going to be ugly. The X360 comes out on the same day as Dragon Quest VIII, and just a few weeks before that I'll Soul Calibur 3 and Shadow of the Colossus.

For now however it looks like I'm getting:
Oblivion(A definite, so looking forward to burning another 200 hours of my life away)
DoA 4(Ninja Gaiden XB has made me a total Itagaki fanwhore, plus I sort of like the series)
Ridge Racer 6(Looks damn smooth and sexy, also maybe Namco will finally let me play Outfoxies while waiting for the game to load..lol yeah right).
Perfect Dark Zero(Barring any bad reviews, Not really digging Rare's artstyle but being a huge fan of the original I have to play this)
Project Gotham 3(Custom soundtrack support and it's easily one of the best looking launch games).

Everything else I'm uncertain on. I'm thinking this time I'll get Xboxlive(Wasn't a big enough fan of Halo 2 mp to get XBL last gen) so I'll have to look at a few of the other games coming out.

Prices are an issue of course. But granted here in the US we tend to have all games drop by $10-30 within the first month or two barring a few exceptions. Sorry UK  :(

I just don't see any reason at all to purchase one. You have to go with the full-$400 package if you even want to be able to play XBOX games, and the only 360 exclusive that even remotely interests me is After Burner. Add all that to the fact that most XBOX games in the coming months are also getting 360 releases, and I could really care less about the 360.

The Revolution, on the other hand, really has my interest. You'll be able to use ANY Cube compatible controllers with it, so even if you find the unorthodox controllers to be extremely uncomfortable, you can just chuck 'em back in the box, and use your Cube controllers. AND, Nintendo has evidently purchased the rights to most of the Sega Genesis's library, so add all that on to the already expansive download list, and you've got one incredible console, IMO. Plus, it'll probably end up being the cheapest of the 3.

Got the latest PS2 Gameshark, apparently I can play Genesis games on my PS2 with it, or I could just play Genesis games on my Genesis, or on my laptop. Being able to use Gamecube controllers isn't exactly a plus either, and maybe I'm too old fashioned to get enjoyment out of swinging a magic wand around.

X360 related: Oh and too bad Ninety Nine Nights isn't a launch title or I'd be getting that too..well I'm getting it regardless but..oh I don't know. The game looks amazing regardless, sort of a next-gen Dynasty Warriors.

Note: I really don't have an issue with the price of the console, or the versions of it (although in europe it should be a RGB scart cable as standard, not component or AV). Just the games are too damned much.

I'm going to hold off on buying one will virtuafighter 5 or a version of ninja gaiden gets released for it. Sure I'm a DOA fan but not such a huge fan that I'll plunk down 400 bucks just for that one game.

None. XBox 360 is way too much for me to justify buying and I'm building a gaming PC anyway, which is a time-and-money consuming task.

I wonder what it will take to run Obvilion smoothly? Morrowind was a bit of a clunky game in terms of performance issues (yes, I know it's a huge world, that's no excuse for a bad game engine) that choked the most start-of-the-arts PCs. Hopefully Besthisa Softworks is working on the framerate issues because I am looking forward to this game and nothing ruins a great game like a bad framerate.

None. I'm not pre-ordering one, but I will ask for one for Christmas! :)

As for what games I want:
Morrowind: Oblivion
Gears of War
Perfect Dark Zero
Kameo (mehbe)
Quake 4

all have my attention right now. Not to mention the new Afterburner, Senko no Ronde, Killer Instinct 3, and some other games I'm not remembering. Ah well. :D

I end up sitting out every console launch, and this one won't be an exception.

That being said, I'm sure I'll pick one up in 6 months or so. And then I'll be all over PGR3 like stink on a monkey.

I'm sitting out on the next-gen launch as well. No point since I'm at the point in life where videogames need to take a backseat in leu of more important matters. Plus, most of the money I earn is going towards a gaming computer anyway.

Maybe sometime down the road, I'll buy a next-gen (Obilivion does look tempting on the Xbox360), and when I do buy a next-gen, the next-next gen will be announced. Doomed to play on outdated hardware? Is it such a bad thing?

That's me. I still havent any system from the current gem. I bought my PSOne when the PS2 was already out for a year or 2.

I'll probably be buying an PS2 when the PS3 is out for sometime... and then an X-Box 360 when the PS4 is out or something.

Though I am more looking forward to Revolution. For the 1st time in my Life, I want a Nintendo system.

Even after finding out that the retro games downloads are going to be overpriced and very restricted, and after seeing that controller?

I had faith that Nintendo would make the Revolution kick ass, but after seeing that teledildonic......thing that they call a controller, I've lost all hope for them.

Besides, a PC can emulate those retro games FOR FREE.

Heh...i'm looking forward to the Xbox 360. I'm even going with a friend to the midnight launch (a first for me). I'm probably going to go for Perfect Dark Zero (I liked the first one), Eldar Scrolls : Oblivion (looks amazing) or Project Gotham Racing 3.
Call Of Duty 2 is one for my PC I think.

I posted about this in the Senko No Ronde X360 thread. It's a new Hori arcade stick coming soon for X360 (initially thought to be wireless, but it's wired).

Doesn't DOA use analog buttons for some of the moves?

How would they be performed on an arcade stick?

DOA 3 allowed you to select a controller option for either 2 analog buttons or 4 digital buttons; the sequel will probably be the same.
