lol remember earlier when I said I couldn't wait for my PS2->360 adapter? Apparently I literally meant that ... wandered into my local game shop (which I'd never been to wtf) and discovered they have amazing prices for used games, and also happened to have a Hori Fighting Stick VX for $40. And I also grabbed Enchanted Arms because it was $4 and I need some JRPG goodness for my 360.

A Sony PVM 2730qm (or whatever it's called).

Pics may or may not follow.

But the picture quality is just plain amazing.

Here I was thinking every PAL Capcom game from 2002 onwards had a 60 Hz option. No such luck here. I could live with a good 50 Hz conversion, but no such luck either (it's fullscreen, but Aqui fellows move around slower than on demo videos). Shame on you, Capcom.
Pretty compulsive game regardless, and in terms of playable content, it's a poster child for the way arcade-style games should be handled on home platforms. Whether you're after marathon or a quick blast session, cooperation or vs (for up to 5 players), you're in for a treat. By far the most complete version of Devil Dice/Xi.

Guwange is a code token, all other DLC is on a separate disc.

excellent, just asking since we were speculating in the dedicated Cave box thread about how they might try to lock the DLC disc to the actual boxset (if so).

Huh, odd that the Cave box has a "C" rating. As far as I'm aware, none of Cave's 360 releases are rated higher than "B" by CERO, unless maybe Guwange got a higher rating there.

Yes indeed, the game is rated C there for some odd reason, I dunno if it has to do with some horror elements, or the (dark) blood at the beginning of the game when selected by a character, but who knows.

All my recent stuff up to today:

Image

From Amazon, the Hori PS3 Fighting Stick Mini 3, which was only $32 with free shipping and arrived a few days after it went out. Works very nicely; I just wish I could get an identical stick for 360. :|

From the Microsoft Store, Gears of War: Judgment. Preorders from them included a multiplayer character, a stupidly-powerful starting gun for multiplayer (which everyone else will probably have access to in a month), and 1600 Microsoft Points (the season pass for free, basically), so I figured it was the best choice for a game I wanted to play at launch. It arrived on launch day, which was really nice for free shipping. Also, the game itself includes a download code for the original Gears of War, but I have that game on disc.

From rancor, some Kit Kats, some Akihabara flyers (not pictured), Rhythm Tengoku, Umihara Kawase Shun SE Kanzenban, and something actually shmup-related, Sega Ages 2500 Vol. 33: Fantasy Zone Complete Collection. Rhythm Tengoku was used, while Umihara Kawase and Fantasy Zone are still sealed.

It's excellent, and includes the SFC version, along with the PSX version and a new level set. Really nice stuff. I'm looking forward to the new 3DS game, as well; hopefully that gets announced for a western release, even if it's only available digitally over here.

Also, I forgot to get pictures of them, but the CDs from this Kickstarter arrived.

Well, now I guess I know what else I'm getting when I order my Batsugun from Rancor.
Why is it called the Vic Viper/Warp Rattler? Because the Options trail behind it in a serpent-like fashion, and the iconic front fins are designed to invoke the image of a snake's fangs.

Very nice, that really is some cover. Still waiting for mine. Slightly worried what the postal system might do with it... Hopefully it won't arrive all bent.

Wow, really impressive. Can't wait for mine, too. It truly is an amazing project, and I am actually glad and honoured being a small part of it - by having ordered this unique piece of paper.
