Blast City lock help?

Post by moh »

so i picked up a blast city (another..) and I dont have the key to ANY of the locks. My other blast city key fits the slot, but nothing turns. Does there exist some universal sega key i can track down? if not, anyone have advice on how i can break in?

I was under the impression that all Sega cabinets used the same lock for each type (ie, all Blast City keys fit all Blast City locks).

A good first step might be taking pictures of the locks and posting them here.

A good last resort would be drilling out the locks and replacing them all with ones you have keys for.

As Chempop says, pics would probably help (of both cabs and the key you have maybe for comparison?)

Also try AO, I'm almost certain there's a few guys there who are really clued up on locks as its been asked before I think.

I can't comment on compatibility of Sega keys/locks, but if all else fails, your local locksmith should be able to help you out.

Look for a number somewhere on the lock, then hit up the locksmith, describe the lock, and give them the number... If they can't provide a key based on that info, they should be able to get you a suitable replacement that will allow you to drill out the original.
