Cave SH3 boards and namco jamma to JVS
Cave SH3 boards and namco jamma to JVS
Is there a sound problem with these that anybody knows of, I know my MVS 161 has issues. My other cave boards work fine but this is my first SH3 board. The sound is very tinny and lower than the older cave boards. Its Mushihimesama by the way.

Probably a daft question but have you tried adjusting it in the test menu?safetyboy wrote:Is there a sound problem with these that anybody knows of, I know my MVS 161 has issues. You can only listen to the sound in the test menu as far as I can see.

Make sure the sound jumper is on mono, not stereo. Maybe?
Ohh, just reread it and you dont have problems with other ones. Sorry...

Seems all OK, what does the yellow trimmer do in the middle left?

That'd be the volume mate.

And then, the moment of doh.
Re: Cave SH3 boards and namco jamma to JVS
Still the same, sounds like its coming out in mono.
Re: Cave SH3 boards and namco jamma to JVS
That'll be because JAMMA is mono mate.
Re: Cave SH3 boards and namco jamma to JVS
OK cheers, the older cave boards sound a lot better though to my ears. thanks for the info.

That capacitor has been replaced from stock, not that it should matter to the sound.
I don't remember exactly, but the Namco adapter has a "virtual stereo" setting that does some weird processing of the sound. Try switching the adapter between mono/stereo and seeing what difference it makes.
Also, does your adapter have the audio fix? http://wiki.arcadeotaku.com/w/Namco_JVS ... MA_Adaptor

FWIW I don't think that cap has been replaced. On the first Mushihimesama boards they shipped out with this uglier looking cap there.
