This is the only way I can break 40 million on DDP DOJ. After the drinks, it seems that the Psikyo shooters play in bullet time; it's great. :D

You're a fucking dork!...But, I'll still hang out with ya.
Ya, I hear that a lot. But if you are going to be a dork, you should be the best dork you can be, right? Right. :D

Anyone here experimented with other drugs besides alcohol to see if there was an improvement in their abilities?

I'm talking about very little quantities of said drugs of course.

Drink this equation & you'll be pumped up full of caffie

Post by PC Engine Fan X! »

One time I drank a 12 oz. of Mountain Dew + a Mocha flavored Frappuccino + Starbucks Double Shot = I was still "buzzed" at 5pm and still had to be back at work at midnight. What a way to spend the entire day "buzzed up" and still be back at work at 12am. After the "buzz" wears off, then it's time to fucking "crash hard" (but not at work though).

Of course, caffiene has different effects on different people...so no two persons are going to feel the same way drinking the above mentioned drinks listed.

At work, I've heard of people drinking this odd combination: Red Bull + Vodka = you're drunk but yet at the same time, pumped up and ready to go to moon & back several times! Fucking insane shit!

After a bit of weed its very enjoyable but I dont play well at all.

After a few units of alcohol my enjoyment goes up and I sometimes play a bit better, any more alcohol and the skill goes down.

On mushrooms the cave games are a feast for the eyes thats for sure, but after awhile it gets too intense and my head starts buzzing

Red bull is great. :P

Too much caffeine can make you tense, but too much alcohol can uncoordinate you to hell. Something with both in the right amounts may not be bad- like one medium mug of coffee with a 1 1/2 oz. shot of Bailey's in it. Just one.

heh, this reminds me of first year in rez... a beer or 2 can help you relax and let you play well. I've had it happen a few times. I also found that playing when overly tired helped my creativity, led to some new discoveries :)

Then again I 1CC'd Dangun with a 6 pack in me, lifing into the last level I just started laughing.

Dunno about donkey piss--err, beer, but "God Coffee" is my shmup juice... :P

However, I passed two Heavy mode songs on DDR (each were 8-footers) PERFECTLY after a few shots of sake; before that, I could only ALMOST Perfect them......... :?

Just hash / marijuana. No difference really, sorry. ;)

I did break an old Layer Section score after 5 or 6 beers though.

Yesterday was my birthday dinner, and I decided to have a glass of plum wine... then a Sapporo... then 3 bottles of sake.. Hikarutilmitt drove me home and slapped on Garegga and made me play.. I was totaaally sucky at it, evne when drunk *lol* After downing 3 Mike's hard lemonades, I played G5 and Mushi, and did equally as bad... so I think if maybe I have one beer or something I might actually be better, who knows, but I know for certian after all that, nah.. I was too bombed to play

Heh, one thing I've found out stuff like Mushi or Gradius V.

Given the right level of concentration, those games can actually sober you up! >_<

Decided to fire up the PS2 after having a few shots of Hypnotiq and 7/8 of a bottle of Jager. Played Mushi for like an hour or so (Maniac and some Ultra), then some Dodonpachi Daioujou...and went to sleep later stone cold sober. XD

It sucks though, because I actually WANTED to be piss-drunk that night!

Back when I was younger I would eat mushrooms and play Night's and the Panzer Dragoon games. Night's needs a "Approved by Tim Leary" sticker on it. But you should never drink and play video games....save it for driving and picking up larger women.

The only thing I hate about drinking is the beer goggles. After a few, even Planet Joker and Hotdog Storm look and play like The Best Shmups In The World, Ever.

Now there's an idea... Baileys coffee... mmmm... ^_^

You don't need to get drunk for that. If I'm groggy enough (or depressed enough), that happens. For about half an hour, I once thought XX Mission was the pinnacle of shmupping.

Or you can do better and buy some Kailua, or some Caffé Sport Borghetti (or any other liquor with coffee).

At any case, i'm spending my salary in Martini, when i play games -____-

Vodka & Red Bull actually works great for fighting games. :D
At first this gets me very cautious dodging and then I explode into attacking my enemy with moves he wouldn't expect and that I wouldn't expect either. Then I wait go back go toward him try to throw him. I am starting to play chaotic and this sometimes turns out to be very good for me. But don't count on it. :p

But for shmups, I've tried only Dodonpachi with alcohol so far. However I noticed that I react to slow, I see some bullets and feel like dodged them but they already got me.

Usually when I play shmups I need a lot of Cola. For most games or work I have to concentrate I NEED my Cola, I 've become a real Cola junkie. I simply can't play a shmup for hours without Cola, I always drink European Coca Cola. You ask why European Coca Cola? When I was in Japan and drank Coca Cola there it was very different and I didn't like Japanese Coca Cola, so I had to drink that cooled Coffee stuff all the time.

Bianco, Rosso o Dry? :D

I tried several times to play DDP after a drink, but no way: I just suck when I drink... :D :D

On the contrary I'm usually a better player after a delicious italian "caffè macchiato" :D ;)!

you know about Westvleteren?
i thought i was the only trappists expert on shmups..
Orval is a bit light for this purpose i you drink just one, i prescribe you at least a Chimay bleue before any shmupping.

Your bar has Espgaluda? Where is this now? :)

And I've tried shmupping after drinking before. I'm a total lightweight, so it doesn't take much, but after a few drinks I fired up Thunder Force V and I don't think I even made it past the first few levels. Another time I tried DDP and it was also pretty bad (though I think I made it to the fourth boss at least, but I was playing loads of DDP at the time).
