Re: Ketsui comes to the PS3
Other than us guys with PAL / US 360s buying it, It'll be interesting to see just how many of the "We want STGs on PS3" crowd will bother buying it. I remember the JPN PS3 port of Mamaru-Kun bombing hard.
The PS3 localisations seemed to fair much better though.

You're right. I will support my family by buying two copies of this for each member of my family.Skykid wrote:Buying the same game twice is fucking dumb. Support your families.

Re: Ketsui comes to the PS3
I think it will bomb massively. Despite the bias towards PS3 over xbox in Japan, anyone who lives there and wants to play these games has got an xbox. Outside of that region... well, it's still a £55 import in a genre only a small handful of people are interested in. If it was localised it might do better but that's probably expensive and time-consuming and barely worth the effort.TrevHead (TVR) wrote:Other than us guys with PAL / US 360s buying it, It'll be interesting to see just how many of the "We want STGs on PS3" crowd will bother buying it. Edit: having said that however, If I didn't have a J-360 I'd be all over this.

Yes, and both are here:-SD- wrote:Preorders for both the regular and Limited Editions are up on Play-Asia.
Ketsui: Kizuna Jigoku Tachi Extra [Regular Edition] (US$ 78.90)
Ketsui: Kizuna Jigoku Tachi Extra [Limited Edition] (US$ 119.90)
I will wait for AmiAmi to offer this game for selling as well. ^^

Re: Ketsui comes to the PS3
AMIAMI are pretty much always the cheapest.
Especially for people in the US I don't understand why they order from anywhere else seeing as they don't have to worry about any import taxes or VAT...
Even as someone in the UK, I can get it so much cheaper at AMIAMI that (even if I get caught for import tax/VAT) it works out to the same price I'd pay anywhere else. Frankly I only know of one seller who ships these games from within the UK (therefore you pay UK tax up front) and their prices are fair (considering payable duty) but I might as well run the gauntlet myself; I have absolutely nothing to lose.

Hmm, exact same title as the 360 version. Probably a straight port then?

I think the majority of those types are all talk. They usually want games on PS3 because of brand loyalty, then come up with various reasons why they don't end up buying it in the end. At least from the people I come across anyways.TrevHead (TVR) wrote:Other than us guys with PAL / US 360s buying it, It'll be interesting to see just how many of the "We want STGs on PS3" crowd will bother buying it. Was this the case for the SDOJ SLE?DrTrouserPlank wrote:AMIAMI are pretty much always the cheapest.
Personally the tax rape makes Ami Ami off limits for me, not worth it. There are alternative avenues that always work out cheaper than online stores.

It was the cheapest as far as I'm aware. the SLE was around £90 shipped.Skykid wrote:Was this the case for the SDOJ SLE?DrTrouserPlank wrote:AMIAMI are pretty much always the cheapest.

The tax is hit and miss. I've had two things from them, one got caught, one didn't.

Re: Ketsui comes to the PS3
Yep that's by far the cheapest. Next lowest I could find was nin nin at £115 shipped. Expensive but far cheaper than PA and friends. I won't order from Ami Ami - sounds like you got a tax luck out, but I've heard near 100% shafting with customs on their stuff (same as PA's express service.)was the cheapest as far as I'm aware. the SLE was around £90 shipped.
According to a man in Japan, residents there are currently being shafted to the tune of Y20k for the SLE so perhaps Western gougers have done well by us on this occasion.

Great news. Ironically enough Sony consoles always end up being the ones with the most shmups that appeal to me personally.

Re: Ketsui comes to the PS3
The more premium the service you use to send something, the bigger the package (AMIAMI's problem) or the more accountable it is in terms of insurance or traceability, the more likely you are to get caught for VAT in the UK. AMIAMI is so cheap that I just add 20% + £8 to the price I pay when I buy it, and if I end up not paying it, then lucky me... it's still no dearer than anywhere else. Whether you get hit for tax depends on the volume of parcels being transported via the service you are using, and the size of the package ( larger packages being assumed to be more valuable and worth actually looking at)Skykid wrote:Yep that's by far the cheapest. I used to buy from Renchi and from Play-Asia. Both sent my stuff in minimal packing (usually jiffys) by registered airmail. I never once got caught for tax on any. Similarly for eBay sellers who never falsely declared value or the nature of the purchase.
If you use a courier service or it's international equivalent then you are almost certain to get charged VAT. Their packages are tracked and inspected due to the (suspected) high value and the way in which they are passed on to the local courier in your country.

Re: Ketsui comes to the PS3
I get my imports off Play Asia (about 6- 7 times now) and have never had a packaged opened by customs touch wood. Even If I had to wait months at times for the it to be delivered. (They are very fast atm though)DrTrouserPlank wrote:It was the cheapest as far as I'm aware. the SLE was around £90 shipped.Skykid wrote:Was this the case for the SDOJ SLE?DrTrouserPlank wrote:AMIAMI are pretty much always the cheapest.

Imo selecting the Play Asia box helps greatly as customs might be less likely to open it compared to a bog std plain package.
BTW I forget but How much is the minimum amount a package cost to be UK tax / customs inspection exempt? Is it £25? and is p&p part of the costs?
Re: Ketsui comes to the PS3
This will be a day-one buy, for me. As a PS3 owner that only uses my PS3 to watch Netflix, and someone who doesn't own a J360 but has always loved Ketsui when I play it at a friends' house, this is amazing news.
I hope more people buy this so more games come out on the PS3.

I also already have a dual-modded stick from going to fighting game tourneys and stuff, so this is perfect.

I have a 5$ off 60$ coupon from Play-Asia that I might want to use on this game... or should I google for something bigger?

Well, that's expensive. Is there any chance this will be released outside Japan? Or maybe PSN?

Re: Ketsui comes to the PS3
Great news. I can finally turn on my oven backed jpn. ps3 again.
Got my 50" plasma already on a rotatable wall mount.

I would have preferred to have it on PS3 before (I like dualshock better than the X360 pad), but never expected it.
Recently got the 360 version of it so now I will skip this.
They waited too long with this announcement, so I don't feel guilty at all.
It's a must buy for all shmuppers having only a PS3 though.
It's jam packed with options and a blast to play.

At last, the ps3 gets another game!Udderdude wrote:Finally, after all these years, PS3 finally has one game on it.
To be fair, some games have been released in the past like:
-After Burner Climax
-Daytona
-HOTD III & IV
-Time Crisis Collection
-Sonic's Ultimate genesis Collection
-Initial D
Yes, yes, those are the games I got.

I might indulge. Would never own an xbox even if it were made in 24 carat gold.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.
