I asked a buddy of mine in the US to grab one for me. This 4gb needed a replacement long ago already.

Ordered a 16gb memory card last night from AT&T, and my order is currently being processed. Here's hoping it goes through smoothly.

Then I'll finally be able to access my JP account again once I clear out my 4gb card.

Soul Sacrifice, PSV's answer to Monster Hunter was released (with positive reviews) in Japan last week and something amazing happened: Vita outsold 3DS.
Who would have thought, games sell systems. For the second week in a row more than 60,000 PSVs were sold in Japan. Unfortunately there are no other major titles coming up for a while, so this most likely won't last. (One Piece: Kaizoku Musou 2 is coming next week, do people care about that?)

Gotta say, that Soul Sacrifice special edition looks nice..

We'll have to agree to disagree without being disagreeable. I think that the pictured red version takes away a *lot* of the Vita's technological sexiness. There's just something about the black, I guess. The red looks very "kiddie" to me.

Now that you mention it ;)
I could actually see the red color being distracting while playing. A back device certainly is easier on the eyes.

Strangely, people did notice! I just saw February's US top 10 chart, and Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time (PS3/PSV) made it to the 9th place, above Madden NFL 13. (No actual numbers were given by NPD). Quite amazing, considering Sony basically didn't advertise it at all...

Not sure if I care (probably not), but Final Fantasy X HD and X2 HD have been confirmed for PS Vita (and PS3) for 2013. Will be sold on two separate PSV game cards.
http://gematsu.com/2013/03/rumor-final- ... ystation-3

Square has stated that the reason it's taking them so long is because they are not just upscaling the games but essentially remaking them in HD (new character models, textures).

A crazy amount of indie games have recently been announced for Vita, among them:

Spelunky
Limbo
Fez
Binding of Isaac
Retro City Rampage (already released)
Thomas Was Alone
Runner 2
Guacamelee
Lone Survivor
Luftrausers
Hotline Miami
Frozen Synapse: Tactics

In other news, Jak and Daxter Collection (PS2 trilogy) is coming to PSV, Telltale's The Walking Dead adventure game has been announced and Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD and Munch's Oddysee HD are now available on Vita.

You know what I want? An unequivocal reason for me to go out and buy this sexy little machine. The PSP *implored* me to buy it...the Vita just doesn't have anything remotely eyebrow-raising to me. I do want to buy one...but I want to buy one with the intention of *using it* to play kickin' games on. Where's the Vita's equivalent of Ultimate Ghosts n' Goblins? Or Every Extend Extra?

Or...shoot...*anything at all*!

Edited to add that the only reason I really responded this way was that I read your list of upcoming titles for the Vita and got quite excited for a fleeting moment: I misread "Fez" as being "Rez", and I was suddenly awash in very short-lived optimism.

Why would anyone want to play REZ on a handheld? I'd take a portable Spelunky over it any day.

Furthermore, many of the games in that list are great, do you even know them?

nice ,i'd get Guacamelee ,Spelunky and RCR.
Hell,i'd play Rez on this machine. Too bad it's a shitty game called Fez instead (yes,i'm still don't like the guy who made this---100% bias)

just get mine a few days ago with djmax technica and diva f...........that will last me for a while.

Rez is a pretty bad game. I haven't played Fez but I can't imagine it's any worse than that.

Flesh that out for me a little bit. It's fair to say we disagree, but I want to hear why you think that Rez is, as you put it, "a pretty bad game". Inquiring minds want to know.

The only major reason I can think of would be that the scoring system is terrible. Though I think most people care more about the audiovisual experience than anything else.

It's also mostly super easy with all the remotely tough parts being bottlenecks placed after long slogs where you just need to show up to get past them. Audio and visuals are take-or-leave as well - though is has some really impressive bosses. I thought the game is just too simple to be interesting and too similar to the also-not-terrible interesting PD games. It's a screensaver.

Guacamelee launch trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4g_9tUz0Xa4
We're excited to finally announce our launch date and pricing details for Guacamelee! The game will be released on April 9th in the Americas, and will support Cross-Buy for $14.99. This means you buy the game once and get both the PS3 and PS Vita versions. And that's not all... there's also a Platinum Trophy!

I'd take a vita Rez game - but a Vita PD? Now that would be something

Hotline Miami was awesome on PC - incredible soundtrack too. Would be all over playing it agan and Frozen Synapse is a perfect game for a handheld

It's a shame the vita isn't particularly healthy as a platform because the system and games to date are fantastic IMO. Spoilt for choice. Currently trundling through Soul Sacrifice, doing some part time PSO2, completely addicted to Pro baseball spirits and dropping in on Wipeout to get through HD and Fury. Handheld bliss :)

It's not worthy of all the high praise it gets, but it's okay, like Panzer Dragoon but you're always facing the side [so you can't move around [bleh] and have to shoot incoming shots down].
Rez has a fair couple problems -- for most of the game, enemies pose just about zero threat, some things that are dangerous seem to get through for no good reason, etc. But it's well presented, and areas 4 and 5 are enjoyable [by this point, stuff is actually shooting at you, and the latter part of area 5 is made of bossfights, so it's coooool, even though the earlier half is mostly a slog]. And the boss fights are neat and the soundtrack is orgasmic [notably, Fear]. Portable Rez would mean that I could plug in my headphones without being unreasonably close to my TV, haha.

On an unrelated note, that Guacamelee trailer actually looked fairly neat.
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

Oh...I can understand this, even if I disagree (especially with the screensaver pot-shot). If it's going to be compared to the PD series, I'm going to compare PD to Planet Harriers and show how badly PD therefore, sucks. Very different experiences, each, is what I'm trying to get across. If it's not your cup of tea, I can totally get that...but it not being your favorite doesn't really make it bad, per se, now does it? When I think "bad", I think "broken" or "garbage" or "unplayable", and I don't think Rez (or PD or Planet Harriers) qualifies for that.

This looks interesting. Thanks for providing the link!

As for your earlier inquiry, no, I really hadn't heard about any of the titles you mentioned. I really want something from my old school past to be updated for the Vita in the same way that UG&G was for the PSP. Or a big old title like Metal Gear Solid was for the PSP. Something like one of those things. You make a decent argument...I just don't know that it's enough for me to make the investment.

My copy of the Oboro Muramasa port just shipped. Finally, DJ Max Technika Tune can finally take a break. I haven't taken it out of the Vita for 3 months, since I have nothing else to play on it. Well, I still got Zero no Kiseki Evolution on the backlog (stopped halfway through the game, because I decided to finish the PC version of the Sora no Kiseki trilogy).

When I think bad, I think bad. There are lots of bad games that are perfectly functional. I don't say a song is bad only if it was recorded too quietly, or that a movie is bad only if it ends at the 45 minute mark because the filmmakers ran out of film. Rez is bad because it puts on airs but is really a dumbed-down reskin of an already really dumb game. You could get much, much more out of a game of Asteroids. This being said, there are many worse games than Rez - many of which are also perfectly functional. I don't think it's an even interesting enough failure to be worth harping on, honestly.

Picked up Oboromuramasa this morning - i've switched back to cart purchases so i can at least sell them off after i'm done.

Looks glorious - but only did the first bit.

Tempted by the Curry based Dungeon Crawler as well - but hey... too many games on the Vita. Still terminally addicted to Pro Spirits Baseball 2013 as well so should hold fire.
