Working through a merger at your job.

Not ever being told by the takeover company what will happen to our positions/salaries anytime after the transition period.

Six weeks before the merger, being told that if we want any HR questions/issues addressed we need to take two hours of our own time to attend a "town hall meeting" in the evening after work.

Showing up at said meeting, and the first thing the speaker says is that "compensation issues will not be addressed this evening", and proceeds to re-tell us a whole bunch of stuff that we already know.

Hearing said speaker insist, in the same breath, that "we're still working on" said compensation issues and "you'll be informed as soon as possible" on them, when the new company has done nothing but micromanage, audit, and Big Brother us half to death even before it's officially taken over.

Heck, today as I was still finishing up my workload an hour after we'd closed, en route to my part-time job (which, I might add, pays the same per hour as my full-time job), a bunch of managers and other higher-ups are blaring a teleconference into the office, and spend most of their time either telling each other how "disturbed" they are that their employees have been reacting unfavorably to the authoritarian whims of the new company or congratulating each other on how well the previous day's cocktail social had gone...I think I got a small glimpse of what Hell must look like.

Running old PC games. It's pretty much all I play anymore, and despite owning multiple computers, it's almost ALWAYS a bitch to get something to work. Broken files, DOS prompt, ancient patches, OS congruency, bad sound cards, crashes, bugs--GAH!
