From 54:30 onwards for giggles.
Spent the evening at Goodge and CHI's yard.

Impressive going even though i hate the Raizing style in your face gameplay.
Personally I've always loved Yagawa's Raizing gameplay, but its all chalk n'cheese. You like Psikyo and Seibu and those aren't really for me.

At least I got to pay Goodge one last visit before it turns into an Agora fruit machine joint

Wot? Move on to your bedrooms, spare rooms, garages?!
I'm really against this move, or shall I say retreat to your houses.
Get out and breathe the air. Play games socially with people in the real World.
Starkey's new arcade in North Acton isn't ideally located, but its a start.

Goddamn it!

Can't believe I missed all of this. I guess terrible internet outages and real life drama can cause some serious problems. I'm sorry to have missed Casino's last stand :(

So it's completely gone now? Forever? If so, then that's a real shame.

Hi chaps - I'm back - I had to go to Berlin on Thursday for work and totally forgot the clash with Casino.

Who's down this week? I am - Thursday I guess.

And on the subject of games museums, there's loads of those - one in Italy that's huge, a few in the staes, and the UK's national archive of games and related materials. That last one is a great initiative.

Just an update - there's an arcade event in London tonight; a test for a venue where the guys from the Loading Cafe over in the West Country are hoping to set up a permanent arcade (Rupert Street, Soho). I'm heading over - if you can g you should, because the more people that turn up the more chance the place has (and I might be able to wangle installing a cab or two at the venue if it becomes permanent...).

Alas, details appear only to be on Facebook here.

Off to a great start at spreading the word and generating interest then... I'd like to come but I have to be somewhere else for a lot of the evening. Plus I can't see the details because it wants me to login to facebook.

I'm not sure I'll make it tomorrow either but you could always come throw gravel at the windows of the SOAS library and see if I can sneak out to play.

It is a bit daft of them to keep it to Facebook. These days I feel I know as many people who don't use it as who do. I fucking loathe it, but have to stay on it for work.

The details are also on their website - http://loadingonline.co.uk/loading-lond ... ome-say-hi
Unfortunately I can't make it tonight, but they say it's on tomorrow as well when I'm free: how about we all go and check it out then, since quite a few of us are unable to go tonight?

Spadgy, what was it like yesterday? I hope they're still serving the G & T-Virus themed drink when I get there later!

Right - first off, I was planning on going to Casino tonight, but will happily meet you guys at Rupert Street (it's in a yellow fronted cafe called 'Madd' at the end of Rupert Street north of Shaftsbury/Piccadilly. It might be quieter tonight, as yesterday was the hyped 'launch', whereas tonight is a little more improvised I think.

It was rammed - too rammed almost. And there was loads of energy and a mix of arcadists, mainstream gaming nerd-types, games developers, publishers and games press last night. I'll bring photos along tonight and upload them here later. And I'll fill you in on the ideas about the place. They have some great ideas about how to establish this place. Much of it is off the record for now, but I'm sure it's OK to say they see it as a place for socialising, drinking and eating, playing console games, on arcade cabs and board games. They'll sell game merch and stuff there, host public and industry events (and cross over events), gaming competitions, and possibly things like 'play against the developers at their own game. And much more (there's some really cool ideas, and I've a chance to be involved). And if the organisers are there, I'll introduce you.

Lots is still to be set in stone, but if all goes well, we might have to rename this thread (with great sadness, of course).

Oh, and I'll swing by Casino tonight first, in case any stragglers don't know we heading to Rupert St.

Ahh so gutted I missed the Loading Cafe, how was the second day?

Also, I popped into Casino around May last year and there was a large 3-seater shmup cabinet upstairs, horizontal scrolling, can anyone remember what game it was?

The game was Darius Burst, and we were very luck to have it. Despite the cab, it's also available on PSP in a form.

And the second night of Loading cafe was great. I will upload pictures soon!

So, who's up for seeing if Casino still exists this week?

And soon I'm up for getting you guys around mine for some at home shmuping if you want. Be nice to have a micro-meet in my little flat.

I can't make it this week, I will be at home writing an essay I really should have started some time ago and possibly crying.

I took some pictures at loading... but on film, and I haven't finished the roll yet. I do have one of everyone looking delighted as they discussed it tho:

The concept is quite good but tbh I have to give the cocktail I tried a thumbs down, hopefully it was just because the staff at that place hadn't made them before.

Well, I'll be there tonight, albeit slightly briefly. And I've got your NSMBU Rupert.

As for that phot, I like the fact JDE looks a lot more more sinister in the reflection. I'm amazed Dan76 looking happy is something you can catch on film, and I look like a bloody newborn creature from a cheap fantasy novel. Good lord!
