JROK Sync Cleaner

Post by Muchi Muchi Spork »

I bought it here:
http://jamma-nation-x.com/jammax/store.html

This is a short review that I will edit as I get around to fuller testing. Here are positive things it has done:

Fixed sync in Namco System 10/11/12 games on tv, used to be black screen, now it's perfect
Fixed sync in late 80s Taito boards, used to bounce
Fixed sync in Sunset Riders
Fixed sync in CPS3 hardware

Here is the main surprise: it improved the color quality 100 fold in some recording setups and made some recording possible when it wasn't before. Some PC recording hardware that is sensitive to refresh rate (more so than a crt tv) either won't sync at all or will have absurd colors if you run certain boards on them without this, boards that are a little bit off the ideal refresh rate and this thing fixes it to where colors are absolutely perfect. I'd never go without this thing in a supergun again and considering to low price it is some of the best money I have ever spent. The problem I had before with the screen squirming was partially my fault, if you have the connection solid enough it's not really noticeable.

Just to chime in, I have a custom built supergun running a neobitz s video encoder. Before I added a JROK sync cleaner to the mix my Sunset Riders board would not display properly on three different tvs I tried it on. Runs fine, now.

Thanks. I'll integrate that into the post and give you credit for the info. I'll have time for more testing tomorrow or Saturday and I'll do a big update.

I did a small update. I found this thread coming up with a google search so I wish I would have updated it a long time ago. I think I've forgotten some stuff though.
