Raiden (1,2 and Project)

having played lots of Raiden 3 lately and coming to the inevitable conclusion that the originals are better i've started to play more Raiden 1.

I then noticed the pal version and the arcade have different difficulty, even on hard (air marshal or something) it bares no resemblence to the level of difficulty of Raiden 1 pcb where even the very first enemies needs a fair amount of concentration to sort out...

can anyone comment/adivse on this, cos lots of people have mentioned how hard Raiden is but the home port isnt that hard at all imo.

sorry i know its a bit of a shitty thing to make a whole new topic for but i thought maybe this might turn into an old raiden apprication thread or something....?

Which version(s) of Raiden are you playing? You can of course always crank up the difficulty. Not sure how hard Raiden Project is compared to the cab, but if you are really a masochist, why not just push it up to hardest difficulty?

Honelytly, I find default difficulty hard enough...

Still, you're right. Raiden 3, while good, mostly makes me want to play Raiden 1 & 2.

I've spent a lot of time with the MAME version of Raiden. I recently got the Project for Raiden 2, but the few times I've played the Project version of 1, it felt like the same difficulty as MAME to me. Like CMoon, I find the default difficulty challenging.

hmm, i've got project on the most difficult setting but the arcade seems to be almost twice as hard than that, that is what i was wanting to find out for sure.
