So, when I was a kid, my grandma visited us (she lived in another city) and she brought some SNES games, but I really don't know where she got them, because the carts where actually from PAL region (my NES was NTSC). I didn't know that back then, but it was kinda strange to see those cartridges.
Anyway, the only thing I was remember is that it was a 2D sidescrolling shmup, and I remember the first boss. I'm pretty sure the first stage was just a sky-blue background with clouds and the first boss was a giant plane (several screens long) and you had to shoot all the little turrets in it.
And the first boss was this huge ship-like plane... the boss is so large that is scrolling slowly above you.
Now... here is the problem: I think it is a SNES game, but maybe it could be a NES game.
I can't remember the name of a game!
Re: I can't remember the name of a game!
I actually do remember renting something like this for the NES as a kid - a kind of cheap-looking hori with a generic blue sky first stage and a "huge bomber" boss that was just a static background with turret sprites. Later on you fought a "huge boat" that was the same deal, haha. It was an unlicensed game in a black cart, iirc. Will check Gamefaqs.
edit: Double Strike is what I'm recalling.
1st stage vid with that lame boss: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pzy6-fgHgM (maybe it's a mural on the side of an even bigger plane?)

NP! I'm surprised at how good Gamefaqs's search database has gotten, was a snap to find with the filters.
And this is interesting, on top of being unlicensed, the game used the title "Twin Eagle" outside of the US. Presumably nothing to do with revenging Joe's brother like the Seta games.
Also, the packaging (and cart from what I recall) look suspiciously Tengen-esque. I wonder if it was at all related to those dodgy rascals. Ah, the world of unlicensed 8-bit software oblivion...

THANK YOU!
After so many years... you finally did it. Than you. That's the game! I have asked in several forums and no one could help me!

Oh, Twin Eagle.
Funny I don't remember looking that way. Then again, a lot of games look better in your memory if you haven't see them in years.
I used to play Tiger Heli a lot. Just looked that up on YouTube. It stands up pretty good actually.

Twin Eagle's NES version is way different than the awesome arcade game. The NES is bland and empty feeling (I thought) while the arcade title is a helicopter hedge trimming simulation.
