I know how it is. The original holds up really well, IMO.

I take it this is the Japanese ROM release, with the original lengthy uncovering period for hidden items? The U.S. version uncovers items almost immediately (which would help a bit if you wanted to play with one of the slower normal planes instead of Fairy or Judge Spear).

I'm playing the Japanese 360 release, flitting between Arcade and Normal difficulty, so I guess I'm playing the Japanese ROM, in a round about way?

Recently beat(standard, no 1CC) Daisenpu Custom and Detana Twinbee. Playing Raiden TG-16 right now. I'd play the JP PS version but I don't have a modded or Japanese PS yet, so at least this is much better than that awful SNES port.

Nice, me too. Had to wash the Gekirindan out of my mouth, haha. Pretty fun game, but some bosses take a little too long to kill for my liking. Especially the last boss... I guess you're meant to use bombs to speed things up?

Her stage progression doesn't seem to be as optimal as Kart's, but whatever...

Also I'm struggling to improve my HS on Scramble.

Been playing some Blue Wish Resurrection and Eden's Aegis.

Although the Hell mode 1cc I got in BWR was hard as balls to get and stands as basically my greatest achievement, I was never really happy with my score in that run. I hope to achieve a 30 million clear. :3

Throwing myself at every Cave game up through DFK, trying to determine which one I should stick with and practice.
Getting demolished in Akashicverse, CrimzonClover, and Hellsinker.

I haven't touched ESPGaluda in a while, but I picked it up today and for the first time ever, I got past stage 2 on a single credit. In fact, I managed to make it to the stage 3 boss on 1 credit, so that was pretty cool.

My score was a measly 6.7mill, but it does mark the first time I had managed to get a long chain of a 1000 gold medals going pretty constantly, and that ratcheted up my score.

I need to get back to practicing Souky though. I'm probably horribly out of shape with the game.

And then I found the autofire option [which I would have never noticed if it wasn't the second 2 syllables of Cho Ren Sha, a game that desperately needs autofire ], and died 20 seconds in, which is a fair improvement, but still.

In a non-bullet hell mood as of late so after chewing through SATAZIUS, I'm playing through Einhander and Ether Vapor Remaster in an attempt to sate my hunger for 2.5D shooters.

Playing Futari Maniac. Having a lot of fun with it, especially after my Mushihime-sama Maniac clear.

My issue right now is that I keep getting sniped by random enemies in the lower part of the screen in stage 4 and 5 while dodging the larger patterns...

It'll be an awesome clear though.

After having to take it down for a bit, I got my tate setup put back together. It's ridiculous how much more enjoyable it is, and how much better I do with it.

Focusing entirely on Futari and trying to stay smart about my practice methods. I'm seeing some encouraging gains already.

Not exactly "playing" but I'm currently going frame-by-frame over a Dragon Blaze video to see every enemy's coin drops and point values.

It's taken 5 hours over 3 days and I'm finally at Stage 4. I think I might have lost my mind.

Made into Stage 5, got totally swamped around the middle of it. Man, I fucking love this game. I just wish it had autofire, haha.
It's my own fault for dying -- I didn't do the get-everything trick on every single powerup carrier, so I ran out of bombs [prioritized getting shield over everything else]...

Doing the stage 4 plane rush was intense, didn't have anything on me and I was just like "shit shit shit, gonna diiiiiiie!", such a great experience.
Man, I wish more shmups were like this, quite a few bullets, but they're fast. Like Dangun.

I fired it up to see if it'd work in VirtualBox, I'm on my Linux machine and Wine doesn't exactly like it. It runs at hyperspeed for the first 20 seconds, and then goes back to normal in VirtualBox [so, just wait for the demo to play before starting].
and I didn't check if sound was screwy [so I didn't hear the godly soundtrack ]

Almost there on Giga Wing 2 (Limi/Raven).
I still need to figure out why some volcanons are unstable to trigger, such as the one in the final train in stage 1 and most of stage 2. I could've done it already, but I keep dying all the time thanks to greed.
