Ginga Force (Qute, Xbox360)
Re: Ginga Force (Qute, Xbox360)
Maybe they thought about Gradius V and cringed at the 80 minute loop and thought, "No, not our game!"
Though, I think the game is probably somewhere around 65 minutes, maybe? Not including the training stages. Gradius III Arcade was about that long...

Man, this game some great bosses. The mortorcycle boss is intense. Qute is the only company that can do the 3D tilt thing and not annoy me.

I thought I had to just run under him and get a few spam shots off before running away, and it really sucked :p

Quick question : is there a way to destroy the big blue ship at the beginning of each level in Judgement Force Dragon ?
Bravo jolie Ln, tu as trouvé : l'armée de l'air c'est là où on peut te tenir par la main.
Re: Ginga Force (Qute, Xbox360)
Yes. Spam the Charge Bomb attack with Type B as much as you can while you shoot. Once the ship explodes, it cancels all of the bullets on the screen.guigui wrote:Quick question : is there a way to destroy the big blue ship at the beginning of each level in Judgement Force Dragon ?
Re: Ginga Force (Qute, Xbox360)
Thanks. Is there any interests in doing so ? I just find the ship annoying because it prevent from shooting in the middle of the screen at the beginning of level.

Re: Ginga Force (Qute, Xbox360)
Generally, you get more CR from charging up the attack instead and wiping out the waves as quickly as you can. However, I've found that there are a couple of waves where releasing a large "Charge Bomb" blast doesn't take down the waves significantly quicker, e.g. Area 15 (the one right before the first boss encounter). By destroying the blue ship on those areas, you can get a slight score increase.guigui wrote:Thanks. Is there any interests in doing so ? This is just what I've found out on my own through experimenting a lot so I encourage anyone to share their thoughts on this if they disagree with me.

Re: Ginga Force (Qute, Xbox360)
I am guessing that Qute is getting actually a great succes with this one. I hope it encourages them to make a few more games before the 360 bites the dust.
Re: Ginga Force (Qute, Xbox360)
More notes on the scoring system. It became apparent to me how it works since I'm trying Normal mode score attack tonight. So here's the jist: You destroy enemies and they shower bronze medals. If those bronze medals are on screen and you destroy another enemy, you'll likely get platinum medals. If you get bronze and platinum on the screen, then destroy a big or medium sized enemy, you'll get golden medals.
In Chapter 7 (the big jet) what you should do is weaken the medium sized enemies in such a way that you can destroy them in succession, one after another, so that there medals will all be on the screen. The larger enemies will sometimes just regularly drop small Gold CR. However if you have bronze on the screen, you might get a Large Platinum. If you have gold medals on the screen, you might get a large gold medal from the large enemy. This is roughly how getting CR works.
The size of the enemy roughly determines their base CR value. So you finnickle around with destroying lesser enemies, then destroying bigger ones in succession and you'll be in a higher multiplier than usual right away. I think it's pretty simple and fun, to distribute damage between the enemies for kills in succession.
Once again in Chapter 7, before you knock off the guy raping the jet: make sure a bronze medal is floating on screen from killing one of the popcorns that come from the left or the right. Then when he drops down you'll get a ton of gold CR instead of platinum. You'll find other ways to maximize medal spewing from various midbosses and bosses and such with clever timing and observation of small ememies and bullet cancelling parts of bosses, I think.
In summary: Destroy small, more small, more small (bronze, platinum, gold) > then medium (get large medals) > then large all at once. (get large golds?)

Re: Ginga Force (Qute, Xbox360)
Anybody else gets annoying clicks during the intro movie? I'm not sure whether it's from my DVD drive or the movie itself. It stops as soon as I press Start.
Re: Ginga Force (Qute, Xbox360)
I dont know about clicks, But the Ginga Force game disc takes 10-20 seconds longer before it stops spinning just like Battlefield 3 game disc. Most other games only take a very short time to check the disc is in the drive.denpanosekai wrote:Anybody else gets annoying clicks during the intro movie? Yes it's installed to the HDD. It's only during the intro segment. Dies as soon as I press Start. If I view the intro movie from the gallery, the click doesn't kick in. It lasts the whole song.

Re: Ginga Force (Qute, Xbox360)
Not feeling the love for this.
10 stages is way too many.
Would have preferred if they had concentrated on doing 5-6 stages and really polished them up.
As it is the stages are too long to complete 1-10 in one sitting, feels like its all stretched too thinly.
The ship design stages are just totally uninspired. The weapon selection/bolt on just doesn't work either.
Its great to be playing a non cave shooter on the 360 but Qute once again come up short.

Re: Ginga Force (Qute, Xbox360)
There aren't any strategy guides for it (afaik) but I have translated all of the dialogues in the story mode along with all of the items in the shop (you can find the link to the translation in my sig). The dialogue translation should give you a good idea of what you're supposed to do on each mission.Dazzyman wrote:Got mine today with Bullet Soul. Btw, this reminded me that I still haven't gotten around to translating the "Guide to Seven Tier" in the gallery section... I will get to it

I have been considering writing a guide for the score attack mode but that will be a future project

Also, VixyNyan has translated the Xbox Live achievements for this game.
Re: Ginga Force (Qute, Xbox360)
Thank you. Much appreciated and thank you for spending the time in writing the guide
Loving the game, glad I took a punt (close between this and Calidrus for this purchase)

Re: Ginga Force (Qute, Xbox360)
Does anyone know if there's going to be an Arrange BGM DLC, like they did for Eschatos? I just bought the Complete Soundtrack CD and noticed that there were two arrange tracks on it.
Thanks
Thanks
Re: Ginga Force (Qute, Xbox360)
I don't think so. Many CDs produced by SuperSweep have those kind of bonus tracks.

Oh, I see. Thanks, KAI!
Re: Ginga Force (Qute, Xbox360)
Just saw this announced on the shmups twitter feed - Ginga Force is now available on the Hong Kong Games On Demand service for the princely sum of $299HK. The download isn't IP locked either, so you can buy it from any region on any region console with a HK gamertag. I bought it within the UK using a HK gamertag linked to my UK paypal account and it came to £25.63. More than most shmup GoD titles for some reason but still significantly cheaper than 2nd hand copies.
Just to confirm, there was no pre-order DLC with this game was there?

Just HK? I know Eschatos is on the Japanese GoD and I've considered getting it that way.bcass wrote:Just saw this announced on the shmups twitter feed - Ginga Force is now available on the Hong Kong Games On Demand service for the princely sum of $299HK. Re: Ginga Force (Qute, Xbox360)
How large is the download file? I may consider this too to go along with a physical copy so I can play on either of my consoles. I'd wait for a cheap physical copy to come along though. Hopefully the double pack release of the game/eschatos will lower the msrp of the original game.bcass wrote:Just saw this announced on the shmups twitter feed - Ginga Force is now available on the Hong Kong Games On Demand service for the princely sum of $299HK.
