Muchi Muchi Pork Matsuri dlc - "Cave the best version"?

Post by bydoempire »

Being a long time lurker I just registered. Very useful information to be found here!

I'm a big Cave fan. Problem is I can only 1cc the novice modes, but getting better with the regular modes :)
So far I own Dodonpachi Ressurection, Deathsmiles, Akai Katana, Mushihimesama Futari 1.5, Espgaluda II Black Label and Guwange.

Ok so yesterday I ordered Muchi Muchi Pork/Pink Sweets (Cave the best version) on Play-Asia for a very reasonable price (prices elsewhere are crazy high). After Muchi/Pink Sweets I should own every Cave PAL/Region free game released so far, right? Time to think about buying a japanese 360...

Can someone tell me if the Matsuri dlc code is included in the Cave the best version release of Muchi Muchi Pork/Pink Sweets? I assume only the first print/limited edition has it. So if the Matsuri dlc is not included is there a way to buy this dlc? I have a (dummy) japanese account and checked the games sub menus on the japanese marketplace but no dlc is available for purchase. The only thing available for download is trailers for the game.

Is there another way to buy the dlc and how much (msp) does it cost?

Thanks in advance

You assume correctly.

Pre-order/first print DLC isn't available for sale on the marketplace, sorry. Maybe someone here can sell you an unused DLC code. Or you can go balls out and order this, which includes all of the games and DLC, among other things: http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=43656

Stick a message in the Trading Station. I offered to pay $15 for the Matsuri code and a rather nice shmupper gave me the code for free.

Bummer, what harm would it do if they had this as a download? What's wrong with additional dlc money for Cave?

Yes, the CAVE Shooting Collection is very tempting at first, but when I think about it:
1. Most of the 10 games in that collection I already own. Only 3 games would be new in my cave library (Deathsmiles IIX, DoDonPachi Resurrection Black Label and Mushihimesama).
2. These 3 games will be probably region locked anyway, which leads to...
3. I would have to really go all out and buy a japanese 360 too.
4. The price is too high for only 3 new games.
5. Where are Ketsui, Ibara and Dai-Ou-Jou? These games would be a valuable addition to the collection and would sweeten the offer.

Thanks for the tip, just did that.

The dlc only adds bosses from Pink Sweets to Muchi Muchi Pork, right? Nothing else e.g. game mode wise?

I really wish I hadn't used mine, I would have totally sold my code if I had a chance to try it first. The extra game mode isn't very well thought out.

there is no 360 Ibara port (unfortunately, since I kind of dislike my PS2 version).
Ketsui and Dai-Ou-Jou were published by 5pb which is probably the main reason why they aren't included in the collection. Both are region-locked anyways - tho I see you're considering a J360.

When I forgot my JP account details and so lost my original DLC and started up an new one, Rancor sorted me out a DLC card. Not sure if he has any now but he's great to deal with and may be able to hook you up. He also hooked me up with a 1st print Mushi HD.

I just wanted the DLC but to be honest, I don't think you're really missing anything other than novelty value.

I had gotten a used but mint copy of 360 Muchi Muchi Pork/Pink Sweets port but the DLC code was already used up by the previous owner/seller (and the 360 MMP DLC flyer was just a nice little bonus to have for completeness anyways). When the golden opportunity arose to get the MMP DLC, it was snatched up the same day that it was offered for sale -- actually within minutes of it appearing up for sale.

That's cool to hear the MMP/PS Best version has a DLC voucher placed inside the DVD case. Saves a lot of trouble of going the route of sourcing an original copy of MMP/PS & looking for an unused DLC voucher code like in my case/situation. It was well worth the additional trouble/expense in the end.
