Right in the middle of building a supergun, so had to order some coloured wire for a home-made jamma extension cable:

Turns out I didn't read the auction description properly and ended up with wire of a thickness of only 0,14mm². I'm using very thick wire for the voltage lines, so I'm not worrying about that, but I'm wondering if the thin wires I just bought have a low enough resistance for button presses to register properly? If not, what is the smallest thickness for wires I should use?
I can return the wire, only problem is nowhere on the net have i found a German shop that sells packets of wires in different colours...
Cheers fellas!
What wire gauge for non-voltage lines in supergun?

20ga would be optimal, but really thin will probably work - remember how thick traces are on JAMMA boards.

thats always the way i like to think about it. i've seen people who want to use crazy thick cables to transfer a video signal thats coming from a 1mm pin on a video encoder chip. i wouldn't worry too much about wire gauge, use whatever you find easy to work with.system11 wrote:remember how thick traces are on JAMMA boards.

using thicker gauge with possible shielding (coax) allows you to cross signal with voltage lines. I would make sure to use proper shielded coax for the RGBs lines, then the rest shouldn't matter.
