Other arcade games I've 1cced on a real arcade.
Cadash. so far only with the ninja. since the game gives you only one life, this is also a one life clear. i kow for a fact it is doable with all characters, but the ninja is the easiest, IMHO. Again, memorization is the key. you have to know when you have time to build levels, adn when yo need to hurry to the next area.
Altered Beast. Even more memorization heavy then the others i've listed, but a lot of twitch gameplay during the boss battles. just forget EVRYTHING you know from the genesis version when you go to the arcade. it will NOT help you. I've forgotten what i needed to know to do this, but with practice I know I can do it again. i still remember how to fight the bosses, tho. easier with a second player who also knows what he's doing.
Golden Axe. this one i've single life cleared, and gotten a Perfect! grade. it's 100% possible to clear this game without getting hit once, though it's not needed to get a perfect. i'm not quite that good, though. No memorization required, jjust good tactics. it doesn't hurt, though. The home version on genesis prepares you a LITTLE better for this game, but the AI was dumbed down for the genesis port. Having a second player doesn't help nearly as much on this game, though it does let you cheat in one way.
And one almost...
SMash TV. i continued once. the other player didn't continue at all. This game sets it's initial rank by the daily high score list! SO if someone just beat the game on one credit, dont' expect to do it again yourself unless you power cycle the game! The scar face boss is REALLY cheap, and the orbs are very nasty.

Lately it's been Assault. Not a bad borderliner IMHO- and it can actually put out a fair amount of bullet spam in later stages considering Namco did this in 1988.
Joe & Mac Returns is quite good- a bit more like Parasol Stars than the first J&M sidescrolling game.
As for Power Drift on the PC Engine- it's a nice try for cramming nine of the arcade's stages in a 4 Meg card. I wouldn't take it over the DC version or MAME though. A 16 Meg Genesis cart version of it around 1992 would've probably been decent- maybe as good as the 8M Out Run. I saw pix of an Amiga version at Lemonamiga and they LOOK great, but the rating column has quite a few negative comments like "it looked cool but moved awfully", "looks great until it starts moving", etc.
In Cadash, you DO NOT have to fight Kraken. Just max out your health and medicinal herbs. Take the route you would normally do to go to the next continent, but make it quick since you won't have the Scale of Mermaid. This is quite a time-saver.
I thought Golden Axe's Genesis AI was a bit nastier myself. The enemies actually seemed a tad more vicious. Scarface in Smash TV takes just three letters to describe: S.O.B.

Kinect? KIN NOT.
I play my games on PCBs, but the current non-shmup in the cab (and it's been in MAME for many years) is Crime Fighters. GOt a nice base brutal feel to it, and a truly great soundtrack. If you play it, avoid the dumb life counter version (US 4 player IIRC) - play the normal lifebar one. In the counter, they made your life tick down even when you stand still, because really the game wasn't hard enough for 4 players unless they were being rushed. 2p is perfectly balanced, with a Double Dragon style life bar.
