You have actually given me hope of actually passing the stage 5 boss on normal and when unlocke hard lol.VixyNyan wrote:They are useful for specific chapters, just like the Jamming Unit for Chapter 2.Joerpg84 wrote:What are the pickaxe and wireless looking items?
The pickaxe makes it so you can't get hurt by debris or rocks in Chapter 5.
And the other one, you mean FCSE right? It allows you to collide with friendly units in Chapter 7, or some other effect like that, needs more confirmation and testing. ^^;
Yea it's better to just stick with a Counter Shield (specially the high level ones) on that chapter. O:Joerpg84 wrote:stage 10 is my favourite. Slow was not useful for that stage since one f the attacks I impossible.

Is it possible to increase the amount of credits you get somehow? It doesn't seem like I can get up to 1000 in level one. Also, what's the penalty for dying? A reduction of your multiplier?ratikal wrote:In Story Mode, there really is no scoring. I wouldn't say it's exactly balanced for score what with all the weapons and stuff you can choose. I'm on Hard right now and I noticed that stuff takes WAY longer to kill than compared to score attack. In Score Attack, every 1000 CR you collect gets you a multiplier. You also get a ton of extends, making it easy to clear the stage, but you'll get nothing for points dying all the time.
The only things I don't like about this game:
-No train level (though remedied by underground level)
-Type B has the best special weapon but also the worst main weapon
But god damn...this game is incredible. Everything about it reminds me why I love this genre.

You want to be getting gold credit chips as much as possible as they're the most valuable. When the credit counter goes over 1000 you move up to an X2 multiplier. You go to X3 when you're over 2000.
The only downside to this post is that I have no idea how to activate them consistently (only played about 10 games so far). Killing bigger enemies in groups / quickly in succession seems to help but tbh I'm not entirely sure.

Well that's what I mean, I'm not sure what triggers you getting higher value credits, if anything. I guess one tactic is to get credits via cancelled enemies, but that seems pretty limited.

Man, yeah grinding to open up the Hard levels for Score Attack is pretty grueling. I'm pushing at least 15 credits per stage at this point.
I have an equipment combo I know would help me wreck Hard, but some of the items haven't been unlocked yet. Anyone manage to beat Judgement Force Dragon on Normal or Hard? I beat Tiger on Easy and Normal...

Yes, I've managed to beat it on Normal with Type B. I abused the "charge shield" shot a lot in order to wipe out waves quickly but it was still pretty damn tough... :/adversity1 wrote:Anyone manage to beat Judgement Force Dragon on Normal or Hard? I beat Tiger on Easy and Normal...

Can this be played in 4:3 on a cab and what does it look like - or is this HD 16:9 only?

Give Eschatos a shot too, if you haven't already. There's a budget price version out now, and that game has slightly better enemy and boss attacks, imo.Weak Boson wrote:This game looks super cool. I love the way those bosses move and attack.
This game has a ton of great features that make up for it though. The more I play, the more I like it.

Yeah I picked up the wonder price edition and a wonder it is. You know what I really like? Judgement Silversword's bosses. The nth-last bosses in that game are wicked cool and I get a similar vibe from these Ginga Force adversaries. It's there in Eschatos but not as pronounced. Well, I guess I'll know for sure when I get this game.

Yeah, this game is awesome! I've uploaded a playthrough of the entire Story Mode on Normal in case anyone is interested in what it looks like:

Also, when can we expect to see a thread in the High Score section for this game? I'm having tons of fun with the Score Attack mode! B-)

Personally I'm more interested in somebody who can read Japanese starting a strategy topic. I assume the game's focused on killing timed enemies quickly and not dying, but I dunno if there's more/less to it than that.

Re: Ginga Force (Qute, Xbox360)
I've noticed that at certain parts you can get a lot higher score if you let the timer clock down to almost zero before finishing off the timed enemy and just milk popcorns for points in the meantime.Special World wrote:I assume the game's focused on killing timed enemies quickly and not dying, but I dunno if there's more/less to it than that.
You also get A LOT of points for destroying all parts of the bosses and I've also noticed that there's a score multiplier like in Eschatos. I haven't figured out what triggers it as it seems to appear at random for me (unlike in Eschatos where it increases when you kill all enemies in a wave). It seems like it can only increase as well (even if you die)...
I haven't found any Wonder Witches yet either but there's picture of one on the last page in the manual

Re: Ginga Force (Qute, Xbox360)
I sure hope it's not based around milking, because I hate that :\ Hopefully you get some points at the end of the run for any extra time, so it doesn't reward standing there and killing popcorn. I didn't know the bosses had extra parts to destroy, so I guess I'll have to check that out.pestro87 wrote:I've noticed that at certain parts you can get a lot higher score if you let the timer clock down to almost zero before finishing off the timed enemy and just milk popcorns for points in the meantime.Special World wrote:I assume the game's focused on killing timed enemies quickly and not dying, but I dunno if there's more/less to it than that.

The multiplier increases every 1000 credits you collect, as somebody said earlier. I wanna know if there's any way to increase credit gain, though. Haven't spotted any Wonder Witches.

You can see each part of the bosses that you can destroy if you equip the item that displays the HP percentages on enemies (the Type B ship has this item).
Ah, so it's the credits that increase the multiplier. Thanks!

So I am hoping my copy gets here by next week. After reading most of this thread what am I in for??? Seems very interesting yet a bit of knowing what to use??

Nah, you can mostly use whatever you want. There are certain levels that are made easier with specific items or weapons, but I've really just been using my favorites to plow through the game. Some weapons do seem better than others, but that's something you can figure out pretty easily, I think.RealPlumpBox wrote:So I am hoping my copy gets here by next week. If you don't like the game at first, keep playing. I was pretty disappointed at first, but I keep on liking it more and more as I play.

Finally finished plowing through Story Mode on Hard... only have two weapons left to purchase (one is available while the other requires x number of hours of play-time before becoming available).

Do you remember what you did to beat Stage 6? My weapons don't seem to phase the boss at all. I got to his third form and then...holy shit...Kiken wrote:Finally finished plowing through Story Mode on Hard... only have two weapons left to purchase (one is available while the other requires x number of hours of play-time before becoming available).

Re: Ginga Force (Qute, Xbox360)
You should all try the Spread Missile type main weapon on Normal and Hard, its the weapon with a green icon. The higher level the better. It will tear apart mostly every item and bosses slightly quicker than the other weapons. Its very effective against the elevator segments in chapter 7 hard. ^^
You will laugh once you see what it is.
That extra item will be very useful to collect money from Chapter 9 Hard, which I found was the best place to get money. But for both score total and money collecting, Chapter 9 Normal with Spread Missile would be the safest one to play through. You get 5 million score each time if you destroy enough boss parts. ^^
Forgot to mention I got the 1000G earlier this week. It takes much longer than Under Defeat HD, but still easier than other 360 retail shmups with achievements.
Personally, I recommend that you let time run out at the very beginning while dodging all the flying enemies and spiders attached to the shuttle. Kill the one spider that's shooting the most bullets then use Slow special weapon every so often to avoid bullets and flying enemies. Once time runs out, you hopefully have enough lives left to beat Fan (chapter 6 boss). :3ratikal wrote:Do you remember what you did to beat Stage 6? My weapons don't seem to phase the boss at all. Its 30 hours of Story Mode time and it costs 300000 CR.Kiken wrote:Finally finished plowing through Story Mode on Hard... only have two weapons left to purchase (one is available while the other requires x number of hours of play-time before becoming available).

I feel the same way, and prefer Ginga Force over Eschatos because the bosses are more in the same style as Judgement Silversword.Weak Boson wrote:Yeah I picked up the wonder price edition and a wonder it is. I got a weird item called SQRT-2. It's got a purple icon and it has a square root of two on it. Any idea what it does? I tried equipping it and couldn't really notice anything.
I also got a weird item called seizure which has the CR symbols on it.

Re: Ginga Force (Qute, Xbox360)
I'm wondering what it takes to get enemies to cough up more gold chips, esp. since the score attack multiplier is tied to the stage credit count. Thanks to doudinou for posting the vids on YT- good scores. I may check these out again.
AFAIR the multiplier is persistent. I've never seen it go down, even after dying.
GF's soundtrack is amazing- no surprise with Yousuke Yasui working on it.
