Cave 360 Leaderboards

So er, I just realised I'm ranked #56 for DFK BL and sixty-something for DFK 1.5. I'm in Europe, so I'm playing the "Dodonpachi Resurrection Deluxe Edition" release that we got over here. Thing is, I swear I've always placed badly in these games as I'm crap at DFK. Thing is, last run I did.. I was playing for survival because I really fear the spinning things on stage 5. So I really don't think I should be placing top 100.

Either I became good overnight (which I doubt) -- or Cave routinely clear their leaderboards?

I'm gonna assume the latter, to save me falling in to the trap of trying to play DDP for score and embarrassing myself -- can anyone confirm if they actually do this?

Can anyone confirm I'm not going daft and that scores disappear from the leaderboards over time? Do you have to play regularly to have your position maintained on their leaderboards or something?

The PAL and NTSC-J leaderboards don't overlap, and damn near everyone playing the PAL version isn't very good (myself definitely included).

I guess this was probably common knowledge, but had to ask. I assume the Futari boards are global though, what with that being a region free release?

Scoreboard "regions" are based on the region the disc is from. Playing a Japanese release outside of Japan will still point you to the Japanese leaderboard.

Really good times happen when a games gets released locally after you've been playing the import a bunch. You can post a reasonable score, nothing close to a top-100 score on the Japanese version, and still get a bunch of hate mail from strangers for "hacking the scoreboard". lolz

Hardly worthless! I generally don't look at dividing scoreboards up on a per character basis. My Futari BL Original rank is like 144 with Reco and 166 without the character filter, but I tend to just go with 166. (Although invariably because I don't read Japanese I tend to read the top figure first when submitting a score and then get disheartened when I realise I'm 20 places lower )

But in the case of DFK, it's kinda necessary to make the separation. Being 12th for a continent is nothing to be sniffed at! Although that said, we appear to only have about 350 or so players actually playing BL and a few thousand on 1.5

Those numbers are depressing. It's no wonder Cave are back and forth about global releases with SDOJ.
