Questions about Joyboards - VX-SA

Post by cryion »

Hi. I am considering getting the Hori VX-SA Joypad (the Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom edition, to be precise) for the 360. Now I read that for Shmups you want Seimitsu rather than Sanwa, but the VX-SA comes with Sanwa. Probably a stupid question, but can you replace the joystick/buttons with Seimitsu parts without having to doctor around on the Pad too much? How hard is it to replace the stuff in general?
Also: Can anyone confirm that I can use the Pad on PC too? Google isnt very helpful on this topic (or I suck at searching)

Thanks very much!

and I just thought Hori released a Sanwa equipped joypad

You're talking sticks, joysticks or joyboards, but certainly no pads.

Joyboard, Joypad, Joywhatever... can get confusing. :P
I mean Joyboard ofc, thnx.

But I think you misunderstood me about the other part. Im not looking for a Sanwa board but a Seimitsu one. But apparantly these are hard to come by these days as Sanwa is in much higher demand due to the fighting community prefering those.

So I figured I ll get me the VX-SA and play with that for a while and then try Seimitsu buttons and/or stick.

I recommend either a seimitsu ls-32-1 or seimitsu ls-58-01. The only part you have to worry about is the mounting plate.

If you need more information about sticks and buttons, check out slagcoin, especially useful for dimensions and such.

This is a mounting plate

This is how the mounting plate is attached to the arcade stick

See those diagonal holes? That's where you thread screws through for mounting the arcade stick onto the arcade controller panel.

Ooooh ok so I would just have to get the right one that I can use for both the Seimitsu stick and the board itself? Makes sense. Thank you, sir.
