Maybe Cave doesn't want them to, or wants too much money.

They have everything to do with the license though. At the end of the day, they're the ones who have control of who is allowed to use it, and where. Given that other games ported under the Taito banner (example - Psikyo games) have made it to Europe, it's clear where the problem may be - Cave themselves.Recap wrote:Only that Cave has little to with the PS2 games.bloodflowers wrote:Maybe Cave doesn't want them to, or wants too much money.

AFAIK Mushihimesama was the only Cave game released for any current console under Taito (Espgaluda and Dodonpachi Dai-Ou-Jou were ported and published by Arika), and it's a bit early to be expecting a European release announcement for that.bloodflowers wrote:They have everything to do with the license though. Good point - although Arika did the above two, and Arika games do get published in Europe too.takohiko wrote:AFAIK Mushihimesama was the only Cave game released for any current console under Taito (Espgaluda and Dodonpachi Dai-Ou-Jou were ported and published by Arika), and it's a bit early to be expecting a European release announcement for that.bloodflowers wrote:They have everything to do with the license though. Back on topic - in an ideal world, Empire would get the people who ported Raiden III to re-port it

Agreed! I am a medal whore! And I am blown away by the gajillions of precious gold medals to be captured in this game. But the graphics piss me off every time I fire up this game.professor ganson wrote:Looking back over this thread I didn't notice anyone yet say that this is good news. Game-play wise this is probably my favorite game to come out in the last few years, so I'm happy that it's going to reach more people. I only worry that its graphics are going to piss people off.

That would be quite a laugher, wouldn't it...you know, even though I forked out for the JP version, I'm almost secretly hoping that they somehow put the proper view mode and frame rate into the PAL version, just for the pure, unfiltered irony.Skyline wrote:I'll piss myself laughing if the PAL version runs at a better framerate.

I didn't complain about releasing new shmups in Europe. It's more a question about if these distributors know the existence of Cave games or discard them because the license is too expensive for a budget release.Rob wrote:I knew 100% that in the 2 posts so far there would be someone who completely turned it into "why no Cave."
