New shmup on 3DS eShop site, Galaxy Saver...

Was browsing the various DSi & 3DS offerings earlier today and came across a new DSi shmup d/l by the name of Galaxy Saver from Japanese software developer, G-Style. Judging from the video, it seems to be a shmup title, albeit an interesting one. One end-stage boss looks like a sly homage to Cave's classic DDP in terms of handrawn 2D sprite aestethics.

A d-pad + three button scheme is used to play a serious session of GS. There's a high score screen present but doesn't save them upon powering the DSi/3DS for the night (you'd think such an option to save such scores would've been included from the get-go).

It's a mere $1.99 off of the USA region Nintendo eShop site right now.

Looks pretty decent - giving me a Galaxian vibe with the swooping enemies. Will check it out.

Nice update/homage to the Master System game (Fantasy Zone spinoff) Galactic Protector.
Too bad we can't use the Arkanoid DS paddle controller.
