i don't know. sure, there are a bunch of big ticket items there. but with that much stuff 90%+ of it is bound to be crap that no one actually wants, that he bought just so he could have a crazy collection.shmuppyLove wrote:I'd wager $550,000 is a bargain for everything that's included.moh wrote:its so hard to tell what is even a fair price with stuff like this.

Re: ebay (and other) auctions with insane prices
Had a scan through and there are definitely some notable pieces in there, and a few aphrodisiacs for sealed game luddites, but there's an alarming bulk of PAL/Euro software that, if removed, would take a lot of weight out of the list.
It is an extraordinarily large collection though: the kind that has no respect for playing games or discerning quality (so the worst kind then) but to someone somewhere it might be worth around $200k ish (random guess) since it cuts out a lot of legwork.

That`s Stolen Song starring the motherfucking Tomoyasu Hotei. I thought I was the only one who had it.

Re: ebay (and other) auctions with insane prices
There are a couple complete ones on eBay for under $15, so I don't think it quite covers the half a mil.Jonathan Ingram wrote:That`s Stolen Song starring the motherfucking Tomoyasu Hotei. I thought I was the only one who had it.This thing alone totally justifies the asking price.

Yeah, I'd put it at about half his asking price. Still, a fair bit of it is notable, and the sheer convenience of getting this much stuff in one go would be worth quite a bit to somebody.Skykid wrote:Had a scan through and there are definitely some notable pieces in there, and a few aphrodisiacs for sealed game luddites, but there's an alarming bulk of PAL/Euro software that, if removed, would take a lot of weight out of the list.

would be nice if those items were individually sold though, so people who actually wanted to play these games could get them

Re: ebay (and other) auctions with insane prices
I can see that why he's attempting not to do that though. Individually a lot of what's there is borderline worthless.null1024 wrote:

Happy I made the decision to buy a Blast City instead of an Egret. I knew that parts would be difficult to get, but that's ridiculous..

DS games are fucking expensive!
I wandered into my local EB Games on a lark to see what was interesting and cheap for DS, and even loose carts are anywhere from $15 to $35!
Used prices on eBay for the 'good' complete titles like TWEWY and Star Ocean: 2nd Revolution are around $40 - 50.
WTF?!

Why on earth would you buy anything from EB games. REMEMBER THAT GAME YOU PAID $79.99 FOR? YEAH, $20 TRADE IN CREDIT.
GREAT TRADE IN VALUE !

Well it's not just EB Games, eBay prices weren't much different unfortunately.
I'm just surprised at the pricing for DS games in general.
And herp derp Star Ocean is for PSP not DS. There was another DS game, I think one of the Fire Emblems ... Dragon Shadow or something, that was super expensive.

EB Games is still a thing over there? GameStop ate them here, which is a shame, because EB Games had much better policies [or at least used to].
On the other hand, I fully expect TWEWY to be stupid expensive. Just like how a bare cart of Pokemon is stupid expensive.
also, why would you buy PSP games, especially since UMD loading is retarded slow

I'm trying to get away from pirating stuff ... at some point it becomes more about downloading as much as you can and less about actually playing things, and I had more games than I could play in a lifetime so what's the point? Now that I've been buying the odd game here and there, I have been enjoying them a lot more. Buying used games for older systems is not expensive, but there is the odd exception that I might not be able to get (like TWEWY).
Instead I actually just grabbed a lot of 3 DS games on eBay shipped for $17 -- Dementium: The Ward, Guilty Gear: Dust Strikers and some other game (Zenses? who cares) Cart only, but whatever. The first DS games I've ever bought, and I've owned a DS Lite for about 6 years lol

Anyone know if this sold on a relisted auction in the end? He added a full gallery to the listing making it a lot more visually descriptive. I'd up my original valuation to around $350k - PAL stuff aside there's a lot of nice bits there.
But... why work so hard to collect all these pieces and then sell it all in one fell swoop.

Something can be both extremely rare and quite worthless. I'd think this is one of those things.
It's a fucking AC adapter. Fuck.

My reaction would be the same if the thing hit $100, but $45k? Just, no.
