STG Weekly #9: R-Type Delta

Post by Aquas »

Have decided on R-Type Delta for next weekend. Using Ghegs' 1cc no-miss footage.

If there are any people who particularly enjoy R-Type Delta and want to talk about it, or about R-Type in General I'd love to have you on. So PM me if you're interested in R-Type Delta.

I know you people are out there. This game made the forum's top 25 list multiple years. :) Thanks!

Oooohh, this sounds interesting. I haven't spent a lot of time with Delta, but put quite some time into Super R-Type and R-Type III some years ago. Good stuff.

I'm also thinking of including Einhander in this episode as well, as kind of an all around atmospheric PS1 hori episode. But it might get too long... Just an idea. My call out for Einhander commenters also applies.

Einhander would be amazing. And maybe some good Delta play and commentary could help me get motivated to play it.

I wouldn't mind seeing an R-Type Final 1cc if you wanted to stay on the R-Type bit. Even if you don't do Einhander in this episode, I would love to see it later.

Keep up the amazing work!

Looking to go live at 1:30pm CST tomorrow. Pretty sure we're stickin to R-Type Delta. Einhander will happen at some point though. It's pretty great. Btw, peepsfor this show are myself, Frenetic, Ghegs and Illyrian. Not Sapz. My bad.

Good episode. Fun to watch, fun commentary, and I think you guys pointed out a lot of the most fun aspects of the series (executing your plans, the music, aesthetic, and story).

Not using the Delta Attack just for style points is also really awesome.

As I said in the Youtube comments, I'd like to see Einhander followed by G-Darius. That way you have a trinity of playstation horizontal shmups.

Gradius Gaiden would be a better choice for that theme, I think - it doesn't run in perpetual slowdown mode, and it's also a PS1 original hori like Delta and Einhander.

Wasn't Gaiden on Saturn prior to ps1 (I had forgotten it was on ps1 actually).

But yeah, your right. You'd have to play the arcade version to really represent.

Gradius Gaiden? Nope, PS1 exclusive, unlike every other Konami shooter release of that generation which was on both SS and PS1.

Oh man I'm so sorry, I read that as Darius Gaiden. Ha ha, my bad.

But yes, Gradius Gaiden would be AMAZING.

Watched the Youtube video last night, was highly entertaining. This game wasn't even on my radar, now I think I might have to give it a go.

Great episode, very much enjoyed it.

Would be nice to see a high scoring Harmful Park or Einhander replay some time in the future.

Just finished watching this yesterday. Very entertaining and a very good effort by Ghegs. Would be cool to see some R-Type Final at some point or maybe Einhänder.

And who was the sexually frustrated dapper gentlemen?
