I'm just now settling back here in norcal, but I wanted to say thanks to Frenetic, arcade game, and all involved. How did 8 hours go by so quickly!? Wish I could have stayed later. I had an awesome time with Bakraid (first credit, normal mode 1cc!), reconfirmed the awkwardness of Ibara (will I ever like it?), and failed miserably in my Dimahoo 1cc display. I guess I'll have to make a recording of that at my leisure. The food and beer was excellent too, many thanks to CMoon for that. I probably should have drank more. I enjoyed talking with those I did, but my social graces were not at their best, and I never introduced/spoke with a good number of fellow shmuppers. I'll just have to correct that next time...

So when's the next one? My family asked "when will you visit again?", so... hahaha

Oh, I found out why Gun Frontier was so easy. Apparently the Saturn version is really dumbed down. I credit-fed through it in MAME the other day and it's way way hard. Great game though.

Really? Now I'll have to try it out. I knew something was wrong when I had 9 lives after the second stage...

Next time round I'd be happy to brew a few more varieties. You guys just caught the dregs of what I had left from a friend's wedding.

Yeah, that explains a lot. I love the game's soundtrack and design, but definitely way too easy. I mean, I can 1'cc it!

Yeah, it really is a great game. Listening to the soundtrack right now in M1  It's a shame that the Saturn port got so dumbed down though, would be nice to have a good port of it.

Pretty much, yeah.

Just sit back--Chill--And wait for the next one to come up.

It's all a matter of mood and timing.

Just don't miss the boat when it shows up. :)

Pretty much it's a potluck and if you have any arcade boards to contribute to the rotation. The one before last, we went to Final Round after the meetup for some Darius Burst action (I've been back several times since, they really need to make a multi-screen xbox version >.<). I usually bring an Xbox for fighting games on the side, and there's usually anywhere from 6-10 stations for STGs. It is a blast, but yeah, just have to keep an eye on the forums. He usually posts at least a month in advance to give people time to plan and work schedules. It is a lot of fun and you tend to learn a lot on both game and hardware fronts! There's also some trading and buying/selling going on. Definitely not to be missed!
