Worried as in "worried if he won't put one in", right? :)

Man you have no taste.
Got up on the wrong side of bed today? Sorry for expressing mild reservations over a relatively low-contrast background with randomly arranged and chiseled deck plating, and air bottles strewn about. It's mostly fine (and pretty close to Toaplan style), just would like to see a bit more variety. (And fewer air bottles.) Also, pink bullets

I haven't seen much yet, but Toaplan's style is simultaneously cleaner and more detailed (where it matters). That is good taste. I am not going to be drawn into crapping on the efforts of NG:DEV here, but they could show some restraint in the detailing of the background here (and more imagination than air bottles) and it would improve the product. Overdetailed ships are fine of course :D

Guessing on second view that the section behind the transparent windows might scroll independently of the main view (as they should).

I think people are really fond of making stupid, mildly obnoxious comments about other people's mild comments on the game. I don't get what that's supposed to mean for me, considering I haven't been interested in NG:DEV's previous shooters. Surprise or not, I don't welcome pink bullets. Red or yellow bullets will show up just fine, at least on that screenshot.

Objectively good... ahahaha. There's no such thing! But hey, as long as they are subjectively good to me I'll be happy. And two of the titles released so far have been. Also the titles seem to be getting better every time.
There is such a thing. Examining something objectively is to critique without personal prejudice or pre-conceived notions: therefore you can fairly say something isn't very good, objectively speaking, if that happens to be the case.

Commentaries on quality will always be taken more seriously from people without Hard Corps: Uprising avatars. Objectively, and not subjectively, that game sucks.

I should clarify, certainly I wasn't trying to be obnoxious. What I was trying to get at was that it's most likely an inheritance of the artist on this project rather than NG:DEV themselves. I associate pink bullets as a very Rozyrg thing ignoring the mainstream commercial lot like Cave, and I have a feeling that if you had seen the original XYX, a lot of the design choices you were commenting on would make sense (not that they rain on your view any less).

Why are the pink bullets a problem? They're easy to see which is what matters.

I hope the rest of the game looks as good, that new shot looks fantastic - reminds me a little of vintage Compile with all the lens clusters on the tanks.

I also hope that enemies at the bottom of the screen can fire. Sniper tanks, arise, reclaim your crown!

No release date yet announced, I'd assume it's around April 2013 though. Can't wait until the trailer is out.

Wow - this is looking goooooooood.

Not loving the pink bullets... but it's a minor annoyance at best for me.

That screenshot gives me a sort of Toaplan vibe, specifically Outzone. Which of course means it will be amazing. :D

They hurt my eyes, which is what matters.

I don't understand the complaining about Garegga-style bullets, even, so long as the hitboxes are sensible. Big floaty blobs of puddin' don't help with suspension of belief either.

I admit it's unusual to request something like the reverse of a "Red Ball" mode but there it is.

The patterns look pretty Toaplan-ish, though it's not clear how the bullets would be fired out of the hardware seen on those sprites.

I agree - I much prefer the more "realistic" approach of bullets (Garegga has the best bullets in a shooter imo). I think every shooter would be better with this approach - but to each his own. :)

Still love where this is going visually.

Why do everyone think they have a right to have an opinion about this game?

Altight let's have a draw here: Perrys vissuals are stunning but some Topaplan games have a tad more detailed graphics.

In the end it all comes down to taste anyway. I love perrys visuals. :)

I can live with that. But maybe the gfx isn't all done yet? Maybe Perry will pass toaplan on the final stretch? Yes? Can happen?

Could be. I would just like the consideration of an option to change bullet colors. It doesn't need to be the default, obviously :)

I'm going to dare to say I really do like the pink bullets. I don't need it in every shmup I play, but I adore near-painful neon and gaudy colours in fast moving games from time to time. Makes me feel like I'm in that sequence towards the end of 2001: A Space Odyssey.

I don't care about bullet color that much, and from the screenshot I think it seems fitting. But is it hard to add a option to change bullet color on your own?
Don't know for sure but I think it was Xeno Fighters had an option like that.

Yep, Xeno Fighters R has an option for changing bullet colour. I always left it at red or whatever Alluro left it on for distribution myself though.

Eden's Aegis also has a bullet color change option.

Personally I think the pink bullets look lovely on that particular screenshot though.

Yep, that'd be the famous slit-scan warp effects in that groundbreaking scene indeed.

To see/play the Neo-Geo MVS cart version of Neo XYX will be an awesome shmup experience indeed. I was impressed with their MVS cart of Fast Striker version 1.5 release.

Amazing! It looks so lovely. I admit it could do with a bit more variety of bullet colour, but nonetheless, I'm stoked to get this (and wishing I'd pre-ordered MVS instead of DC!).

2 words: Bobcat Bombs!

Ship moves a lot faster than I would have liked, but that's a minor complaint. Game looks amazing - this has officially jumped to the top of my hype list.

This is a true first for me: I'm looking forward to playing a euroshmup. Looks very solid.

My only complaints:
- The explosions are weak.
- When you pick up items, they just sort of disappear off the screen when you're pretty close to them, it doesn't feel like you're actually collecting them.
- Not sure how to describe this, but the ship looks sort of floaty, especially when weaving through bullets.

Is it just me or does the ship move so quickly that the screen scrolling horizontally doesn't actually keep up with the ship, so when the ship suddenly moves to the edge of the screen, the stage itself has to 'catch up' and scroll to the side even if the ship stops moving. Looks a bit more disconcerting than standard shmup movement where any screen scrolling happens relative to player movement, and the screen only scrolls horizontally if the player is actually moving, relative to the player's position on the background. Am I the only one noticing this?

The scrolling seems way too fast judging from the trailer.

Other than it looks great though! Can't wait to play it!
