Wow, this is nice to hear. The original Geometry Wars was as fun as PGR2 itself, which is a really solid racer. Thanks for the info and the screen shot.

This looks sweet. First one wasn't quite as much fun as Robotron, but a great game all the same. This looks more of the same with great visuals, really like the style there.

Geometry Wars 1 will also be included.

And the games will have Xbox Live scoreboards!

Project Gotham who? 30fps what? I'd pay good money for these as a standalone release.

Your wish has been granted, it seems.

Geometry Wars 2 has been announced as a standalone title purchasable through the Xbox 360 Live Arcade service.

This will be the second shooting game in the initial Live Arcade lineup, after Mutant Storm Reloaded.

The version of geometry wars 2 that is included in pgr3 will be time limited. The stand alone version will have no such limit.

The 360 has quite a line up of arena shooters: geometry wars 2, mutant storm, smash tv and robotron.

Not doubting you or anything, but where'd you read that? If that's the case, there goes my reason to purchase PGR3...

This game looks like its gone way overboard with that particle effect. Looks more like a graphics demo/benchmark program. :D

That's pretty much what Geometry wars started as. It was originally an example program included in the XBox SDK that turned out to be popular enough to be added as a minigame in Project Gotham Racing 2.

Yeah, a few people have confirmed this now. Apparently PGR3 does *not* contain Geometry Wars 1 or 2... only demos (limited to 4 minutes of play).

Gamers must purchase full versions of Geometry Wars 1 & 2 from the Marketplace on Xbox Live

making the full version only available through Live Arcade is stupid. when i get 360, i want to have this available, but getting the internet service to get it is just too inconvenient.
I have no sig whatsoever.

Well, you don't need to subscribe to Xbox Live to buy the games. The marketplace is seperate and you can download demos and buy games with the Silver membership.

Anyone else actually playing this one yet? I don't think there are more than a couple of people here who have 360s currently, but I'd be interested in some competition, and the guys at work are about 2.5m points ahead of me right now... I think my top score right now is somewhere in the 220K range...

This game is really fun and addictive. Unfortunatly I suck at it right now. The screen gets filled up pretty quickly and with all of the explosions it is hard to see everything sometimes. Hopefully I'll crack 100k tomorrow.

Yeah I just bought Geometry Wars and Mutant Storm for the 360 and they are indeed both awsome! :D

What if you buy a Japanese 360? Can you go online in the US with one?

XBox Live Arcade should be an integrated part of the 360 for all regions, and presumably Gemoetry Wars will be available on Japanese consoles.

BTW, if anyone wants to compare high scores, my gamertag is Vexorg.

fair enough. but i don't have internet at home (high speed or otherwise), so any online content would be unavailable.
