Thanks. I got a Viper Phase 1 board running on it tonight as well. I'll have to get a marquee for it to match.

Or if I want to be really strange, I have an Asteroids marquee decorating my office. :D

Now, I need to find the service button on this cab ...

yeah - I could have had 8 Blast City cabs for what I paid for SDOJ when it was released. :?
The Cab was Y30k, and SDOJ was Y240k.

I've been doing a few upgrades on my PC. First of all, I moved my syetem to a much bigger case (a CoolerMaster HAF X) to help resolve some of the ventilation problems I've been having. Second, I just bought a GeForce GTX 660 Ti video card to replace my older GTX 260. The new card not only handles stuff at 1920x1080 resolution with no problem (something my old card could kind of do but wasn't very stable at,) but also manages to be a lot quieter (and a lot more stable) in the process. Although I haven't gotten it yet, I also plan to replace the system drive in my system with an SSD, which should speed things up even further. Ultimately my plan is to do this for now, then plan on a MB/CPU/RAM replacement in 6-12 months.

Wow, I didn't realize cabs were so cheap in Japan. Did you have to invest more to fix it up after the 30k?

That 30k includes the 2 player control panel I bought in the pic. It came with a 1P Vs. City panel, and it was driving me mad that it didn't match and I couldn't play Bakraid with my imaginary friend. Otherwise, this cab is in primo condition. Side-art is flawless, and I've never seen a prettier monitor!
Good thing I don't like horis, because I'm never rotating that bitch again!

I have that one too in my computer and loving it. Runs cooler and efficient on my 500 watt PSU.

If there isn't a pinhole eject of some sort on there, I take back every nice thing I've said about the X68k's design. Seriously.

Not actively - they go in and out of production so fast I'd be constantly updating my website. At any given time theres usually 2-3 unusual flavors in production. Right now I think they're only making the pumpkin pudding, but I have a few of the other flavors stockpiled. Just send me a PM and I can let you know what I have and whats available.
As soon as I get another Job i'm gonna be staight on Jeffs case about getting some eastern delights too. Meant to buy some from him a few months ago but the fact I just spent loads on DVDs meant I had to hold off; I'm sure the import tax will be more than the cost of the kitkats anyway.

Better get stocking up Rancor.

Picked up this Gateway DL27-1 VGA monitor about a month ago, and finally found a setup that I like.

I contemplated setting up the X68000 as a computer at a desk, but I really only use it as a game console.

Now I just need one of those L-shaped "gamer" chairs to sit in front of it and i'll be set.

:o robivy64. does the compact flash really ..really works with all games you have in files ?

i still have a 1gb Scsi hard-drive for my x68000 but the ratio of games playing is very low (lots are crashing or never start, especially when game is in multiple files from floppies ..) :?

I may need your help moving the cute out there.. Just need to get and RGB monitor for consoles and the setup will be complete! Gimme a call when you're free and we can hit up that conveyor belt sushi place near my house again and do our best to 1cc SDOJ.

I'm using one right now to play 360 shmups on my cab. It will work with any console that has scart.

I need a new Saturn, a botched modchip install stopped my drive from spinning up. Probably going to sell my old one as-is, see if they can get it to work.

Yeah, I was surprised with it not having any of those hifi feet or anything to give it a bit more "room to breath", not sure there's any air wents either, because I can't seem to find them :P

All right, the last couple of days, quite a large haul dropped in piece by piece. Here's the accumulated haul... :D

Image

So, in detail:

Some goods from our favourite doujin-source in Japan, The Ranc (tm):
Touhou 7 PCB, Hellsinker and Akashicverse (plus 2 Kitkats, Yummy!)
Image

2 DB15 cables for the soon-to-arrive supergun:
Image

A japanese PS2, ready for the also soon-to-arrive DDP DOJ and Esp from yours truly, Moh...:
Image

A japanese Gradius III and IV and a few other games that came with the above mentioned jap PS2:

I think I'm set for with shmups for the next few decades...
