Ni no Kuni / 二ノ国 (PS3)
Re: Ni no Kuni / 二ノ国 (PS3)
Did any of you pre-order the limited Wizard's Edition? If you did then you are lucky; you can sell it on ebay for more than twice of what you paid = get the regular edition for free + additional profit.

Re: Ni no Kuni / 二ノ国 (PS3)
Supposedly some particular eBay seller or other has caused some trouble on this front; if I read the story right, he bought up a huge load of "Wizard Editions" early on before they limited the number per customer, and then started re-selling them, claiming he's working in league with Namco (which the latter denies). Of course, they also say there was some glitch in the system which allowed them to sell editions which don't exist, and they're offering a 20-dollar coupon and a copy of the player's guide as compensation to anyone who got burned by that...bit of a mess, it seems.
Re: Ni no Kuni / 二ノ国 (PS3)
Nah, that reseller (PlayCanada) bought "only" 200 copies which isn't a whole lot considering that there were probably 7,000 limited edition copies or more. The company that really screwed up is Namco's American distributor, Digital River, who made several mistakes during the pre-order process, which led to MANY people getting their orders cancelled (some as late as yesterday, and those orders were from June 2012!). Their worst mistake was of course to not order enough Wizard's Edition copies in the first place; and now it's simply not feasible for Namco to make more, so they won't.BulletMagnet wrote:Supposedly some particular eBay seller or other has caused some trouble on this front; if I read the story right, he bought up a huge load of "Wizard Editions" early on before they limited the number per customer
The European Wizard's Edition (which was for instance available for preorder at the European Amazon stores) is also sold out now; but at least there everyone who wanted one had a fair chance to purchase one. Since it's region-free and the game and companion book are in English, it's now going for stupid money, too. The US-version has a 2-track CD, a coin and 5 art cards which the EU version lacks, but the EU version has two exclusive DLC famliars (apparently the best in the game?).

Re: Ni no Kuni / 二ノ国 (PS3)
I was really late ordering the wizard's edition of this.
Most shops here in europe had ceased taking orders already.
So I have ended up ordering it at 2 different, somewhat less reputable webshops before finding out my old import gameshop still took pre-orders.
I've now officially got three copies paid for so I guess I chances are good that I actually receive one.
The others, if delivered should be easy to sell.

I really didn't like the demo of this. Totally stupid--I like Level 5 in general and am a complete Ghibli fan, but this really looks and feels too mediocre for my tastes. Funny Rogue Galaxy was mentioned earlier, since I kept thinking that I'd rather go back and play that. I really hope I'm wrong, but the demo feels like a complete misstep to me.

That's disappointing to hear ... I grabbed the demo but haven't played it yet, I hope it's not as 'mediocre' as you say. Reviews so far have been glowing!CMoon wrote:I really didn't like the demo of this. Played the demo, I really enjoyed it. Had my ass handed to me three times by the forest Guardian before I figured out I could move
I will eventually pick this up, but I'm cheap and have no money so I'll wait a few months until I can get it used for $20.

If you hurry very much you'll be able to get a Wizard's Edition (UK edition), and for a very low price: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ni-No-Kuni-Wr ... 0866533564
The offer went up 10 minutes ago and they sold 50 already; looks like they have ~500 total.
EDIT
25 minutes later: 175 sold.
40 minutes later: 250 sold.
EDIT:
And it's gone. They didn't have 500 after all; the auction ended after 278 were sold.

Me = very happy person.
As said 3 copies ordered to hopefully get 1.
2 preorders cancelled but already refunded, 1 confirmed shipping of wizard's edition with dlc:
- Flutterby
- Griffy
- Golden mite
- Golden dongo
No profits, but a kick ass special edition at a great price (70 Euro).

I pre-ordered 2 to make sure I get at least one; no shipping confirmation so far...
Mind telling us which companies cancelled your pre-orders? I would like to know for future reference (=to avoid them).

Both were Dutch focused companies, so I doubt you'd ever use them.Friendly wrote:I pre-ordered 2 to make sure I get at least one; no shipping confirmation so far...

But for the record: 12game and gamedumper were the stores that canceled (and immediately refunded btw).
No reason to avoid them btw, as they too were victim of Bandai Namco's sloppy administration.

Anyone else playing it? One of the most enjoyable modern games I have experienced in a long time. It looks and feels like you are playing a Miyazaki movie.

I'm playing it. I just got to the new continent.
I like the game. I don't like it as much as I thought I would. I can't pinpoint why though. But it is good. Definitely worth snagging.

Did you feel the same way about the demo?

I'm playing the game. I've had a very hard time getting into JRPGs since the SNES days lol.
But I have to admit though this one seems to have some sort of special feel to it. If you love stuidio Chibi movies then you really can't go wrong with this game.
I'm glad I picked this one up.
