For basic needs. Pretty much web surfing, watching DVDs (and using an external blu-ray player in the future), CD copying and such. I was thinking about going all out for $1000+ with a business laptop but to be honest for basic things I don't want to pay that much for it. I got this laptop used for $300 but it has hot pixels issues which drives me nuts. I do want to use a 15 inch screen on it.
I don't game on laptops BTW. If I could get a good working laptop for $500-$600ish then I would be happy. Only problem is which laptop models I should go for? I know one thing, once I get the laptop it will be downgraded to Windows 7.
Good laptop for $500-$600?

I'd look for a stolen Macbook 15" Retina model.
