MMP/PS Cave The Best version pre-order up on Play-Asia's web

Post by zendor118 »

http://www.play-asia.com/Muchi_Muchi_Po ... -5u8b.html

Has anyone heard any news about this version of the game and whether or not it will feature a HD format? Looks like the game will also be region unlocked so that those who wanted the game can get in on it without paying an exorbitant price...

My guess is that it will be the same like the other Platinum Releases from Cave. You get the same stuff but without the DLC thing from the first print (and without HD visuals).

/e

Also from the description from play-asia:
This game is arguably one of the friendlier Cave shooters, beginners, be sure to try this out.
Yeah, fuck you too. -.-

kind of want to pick a backup copy. Does anyone know if you can use "The Best" version disc with already claimed DLC content?

C'mon, man, Pink Sweets is easy. You have a shield, infinite bombs, and a lot of the bullets can be destroyed. It's VERY beginner-friendly!

Well, people say that Muchi Pork is one of Cave's easier games (though I don't really agree). It also has Pink Sweets Arrange on it, which is legitimately easy and fun as hell. So that's actually a mostly accurate statement imo, even if vanilla Pink Sweets is hard as all hell.

I would say it's highly likely as the game is just being re-packaged. The code is probably exactly the same. If you bought Gears of War Xbox Classics for example, the map packs you may have downloaded work.

If that's the case it'll probably be region-free and I should probably buy it then. :D

Oh hell yes! Very excited for this. I'm setting an order down as soon as it's confirmed to be region-free.

I've heard from a very reputable source that this release will not only be region-locked, but it will also lack any HD content as well as lacking the pre-order DLC from the original release.

And I've heard from a reputable source that the world ends in December 21st 2012, ohwait~

Still, better to be safe than sorry I suppose. Maybe Cave's Twitter might be inclined to say something on the matter?

There is a difference between the two releases? I don't particularly want to faff around with Japanese MSP for DLC on a UK console. IIRC, when Cave's PS2 games got a 2nd shot, they were exactly the same apart from minor packaging re-tweaking.

inb4 trap might be trolling...

In any case the platinum/bargain releases of Futari and ESP were both region free (plus other RF bargain releases not from CAVE), I wouldn't see how this one would not be any different.

I don't know what to believe, Play Asia says the game has "No Region Protection" And then few lines below it says it's only NTSC-J Compatible...

Play-Asia doesn't update its tickboxes on region protection until they test it for themselves. The only reason they even have "No Region Protection" is because the first print run was region-free, so they think this one should be too.

So... anyone else risking it? I still have a pre-order sitting there, but... man, would really piss me off if they added region protection.

If I didn't already have the game, I would "risk it". Based on the track record for re-releases, I don't consider it a huge risk.

Yeah, for the 25 notes, it's probably worth the punt.

Then again, the money doesn't really bother me: if they did go out of their way to add region protection, I'd kinda feel like it was a bit of a "fuck you!" to the likes of me. Lord knows, it already feels like unrequited love buying Cave games in a PAL region as it is.

Even if it's locked it should free up copies of the original so chaps who don't have it won't have to pay £100.

Just ordered mine from play-asia.

I would be shocked if it were region locked. My guess is that Cave decided to add the reprint of the original DVD when they ordered reprints for the upcoming boxed set. That way they get a better deal on volume from the printer and get to capitalize on the obviously burgeoning interest in the game. They saw the prices these were going for on eBay I'm sure and that means there is a market for it and why not Cave profit rather than joeuser on eBay.

Yeah I totally agree. I'd be very surprised if it wasn't just a straight reprint of the original region free release.
Placed my pre-order a while back based on this assumption.
Fingers crossed we're all not just setting ourselves up for a massive kick to the gonads from our beloved Cave.
They wouldn't do that to their loyal fanbase now would they.

I've got a copy for this on the way now, as I got informed by a text from my bank at 5am this morning for a fraud alert on the payment for my pre-order. Does anyone else have that type of thing happen when they order from play-asia?

Yeah, I've got that before. I think it's just because they operate in another country that it raises a flag with the card company.
