I'm looking for this novel i read when i was really little. It's not a children's book for sure - i remember clearly that it took me months to read and was huge. I don't remember the name of the book or the author (who may have been female).
Anyway - the reason i can't find it is because apparently every crazy cat-lady and her mom likes to make fantasy novels about cat people. I had no idea how many cat people fantasy novels there where. So yeah - the book features cat people.
This is all i remember from the story. The main charachter is a cat lady who is on her period at the begining of the book. I believe the book starts out with her and another cat man in a boat of some sorts that has oars. Like maybe a lifeboat or a slave ship. They haven't eaten anything in awhile but the cat lady is too proud to show how hungry she is. Later on they get to shore and someone feeds them but the cat lady eats slowly until the cat man points it out that he knows she wants to stuff her face. Sometime after that she chases something through a maze of tall hedges and vines or something.
Not a chance in hell i'm gonna find this book i know but if that sounds familiar then let me know. Every book has a thousand covers but the cover i remember looked like Roger Dean art (though it probably wasn't). I believe it had a bull skull with black horns floating above a wierd twisted desert or something. It was pretty scary looking.
This was sometime in the eighties that i read this so...
Sigh... i'll never find this book.
I'm not turning anything up, but then I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking for...
You can always try doing keyword searches on Google or places like Abebooks, to see if anything sounds remotely familiar.
Unfortunately, the book cover might not be a help, because the same book may often have a new cover with each printing
