Ibara Black Label - COMPLETE

Post by Aleksei »

I just finished a 1cc of Ibara Black Label with two misses, FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Used left side player, wide shot (shot 2) with big bomb (bomb 2 option);

Started with 5-way, then Napalm, and then Homing all the way!

Granted I only powered up to the max and only picked up bomb items and actively to avoid picking up drops to keep rank low so my score ended up being 10,259,350.

YES.

I should say very well done though. Are you playing on the PCB?

Damn, there I was thinking the emulation may have reached an optimal stage.

The emulation is harder (less slowdowns), is playable IMO.

Yeah, if you've got an capable processor (I have an i5 3570K) it's perfectly playable. Kind of akin to the PS2 Ibara port. Just don't expect an exact arcade perfect experience.

Is it best played using Slowpoke MAME, or does that not make a huge difference?

(I think I read a suggestion to set the blitter delay to something like 63%, though that may have been for Futari - not sure if it applies equally to Ibara.)

I'm using a Mac with a 2.26ghz intel core 2 duo from 2009, and I have SDL Mame. Anyone know if that will work. I couldn't seem to get Mushihimesama going last I tried, but it might be a configuration issue. Ketsui/Espgaluda are fine.

Core 2 Duo might still have issues, I had some performance issues on my old Core 2 Quad Q6600, but the i5 I have now runs much better.

Actually, those two are still PGM, Mushihimesama was the first SH3 game.

I bought this i7 and it runs futari pretty well, plus this is cheap for an i7.

For a 40 dollar fee on top of the full price I can ship it from my house since this is a in store item, just offering.

Congrats!

I find it hard to see only 10 mil as your total even for avoiding basically almost every medal/powerup.

I'm not a pro at Kuro or anything but even if I'm only barely trying I can easily get 3+ mil out of stage 1.

Either way, awesome game! You should try playing for score next.

You can get 10mil by playing half minute at max rank. Helluva game.

I never hit the max rank during a stage, only time it turned red was when I destroyed a boss component, and I didn't do a lot of shooting so that items wouldn't drop so much, I also never fully bombed, just part bombed to avoid getting hit. I'm going to play for score some day, but I am proud that I found a way to beat the game easily, its as if I were playing dot eater mode from Ikaruga, sort of.
