Using a PS3 or 360 arcade stick on Sega Saturn?

Post by SePh1r0tH »

Is this possible? I've done some searching and couldn't find any kind of converter to do this. I would love to use some of my custom arcade sticks or the VLX on my Saturn or Supergun.

Thanks

I think so. I was looking for a arcade stick for my Saturn, but couldn't find anything that I liked. I came across something called the "VLX Kitty" board. This modification only works on the 360 version of the arcade stick.

Here is a quote I took from that thread.

"Adds support for all consoles supported by MC Cthulhu (PS3, Xbox1, PS2/PSX, Saturn, Dreamcast, Gamecube, SNES, NES, TG-16, others) "

Sounds awesome, but I don't know how the VLX stick actually hooks up to older video game consoles. I want a VLX now, but I can't find one for cheaper than $450.

Thank you for the link. However, That one is a PS3 version, and it seems like the Xbox 360 version is preferred for many modifications.

From my limited research, you're correct. It looks like the MC Cthulhu works with a PS3 out of the box, but a common ground 360 controller PCB is required to enable 360 compatibility.

If you don't need anything at the moment, you may want to keep an eye on the PS360+. I bet there is a firmware coming which will add Saturn compatibility.
