Budweiser is the king of beers
Cool. Ironically enough, I was drinking the same exact beer when I 1CC it! Which was the only time I ever did. I guess I let up on it a little afterwards.
Still, I would like to be more proficient at it though.
first time i broke 14 (or somewhere around there) mil on ikaruga i was absoluteley shitfaced, passed out shortly after and i didnt even get my initials right on the HS table...
the destruction of everything, is the beginning of something new. your whole world is on fire, and soon, you'll be too..
yea that happens to me sometime after a few vodka's you play better.
it must be your more relaxed and not so tense so you do abit better strange in it. to meany tho and you go to shit
Well I tend to do much better when I'm chilled out after a couple of coca-cola's or cups of tea. I guess acholl is a way of relazing the body, if you are tense then you are bound to be jumpy and jumpy is bad when the slightest twich can result in you flying a you're aircraft of choice into a near by bullet or projectile.
I tend to shmup a bit better (sometimes far better) after 3-4 drinks. Any more than that though, and I'm horrible. Buzzing is good for the shmup. Drunk is bad.

it's true, i do best with 1 strong trappist (say one Rochefort 10/Westmalle), 2 coffees and a few bowls. drink the coffee after the beer.
i'm ready for the tour de france.
thats funny, i thought a lot of you guys would be down on high scores achieved while drinking...or other such activities. i beat my ddpdoj high score by over 3 million while under (the very slight!) influence.
I don't drink, but I have found that having a smoke before gaming can help. Makes things easier when you're feeling real relaxed and not concentrating too hard.
The only time I do better in games when I've been drinking was the old Virtua Fighter 4 arcade frenzy days. I generally used Shun, Lion, or Aoi -- all tricky characters, rather than brute force, so being wasted kind of worked. For anything that requires more finess (like Dodonpachi or any other Cave game) I simply play like a bag of dicks if I've had 2 or more beers.

First time I broke 25mil in Ikaruga (over 2 years ago, in Japan)
I had about 3-4 beers before I started to play, late at night after
my work shift ended. It will always been a lovely memory.
budweiser is donkey piss and stole its name from the legitimate czech budweiser, but yeah a few beers can help (not more than 2/3 though)
Listen to this man people, for he speaks the truth.
Myself, I find that a few beers takes the edge off a little, as I tend to get a bit anxious and over-stimulated during a good run. Any more than a few and it's downhill all the way. The decrease in ability is truly frightening, makes me wonder how people ever seriously think they can drink and drive and be OK.
