Tviks Gradius III (Asia) 3-7 mame replay file
Ok, I normally would have kept something like this in the Hiscores area where it all originated. But seeing someone get to 3-7 in this unforgiving game is downright amazing.
And it's Tviks.

You'll need Mame 0.100 and it's the Asia version.
I haven't watched yet it, but I saw his 2-6 replay and it was insane.

Watched it earlier, awesome skills.
Interesting to watch but I still cannot get myself to play one of Konami's horis that don't involve some penguins and a few octopuses.

Thanks, landshark.
You probably should have waited though until I beat this game with difficulty maxed out (beyond loop 4) before making a topic.
. Anyway, I might complete the bonus stages on the first loop next time, although I don't find them that interesting, and they'd also slow down my progress. Also you can't score much in them.
I recommend using MAME32 for those who are unfamiliar with the command line version. You can get it at http://www.emulator-zone.com/. After that there shouldn't be any problems finding out how to play the .inp file.
Since people don't seem to give Gradius the credit it deserves, I'm thinking of starting to practice some more popular title on MAME someday to make more name for myself. I just don't know which. Any suggestions?

Heh, too bad that I find that game just too lame to seriously get into it. I'm only as good in Gradius as much I love it, you know.landshark wrote:Both loops of Gunbird 2?

Really? I didn't know that. That's good to hear. You know, one thing that I love about Gradius is that it has always been in english, even if it originates from Japan. Even Gradius V had great english voices in the japanese version. For some reason, I just get annoyed if I hear those japanese screamings and grunts, like in Gunbird. And I'm not a huge fan of anime either.MSZ wrote:Gradius is easily the most popular shmup in Japan.
No wonder why you don't play Parodius at all.tviks wrote: You know, one thing that I love about Gradius is that it has always been in english, even if it originates from Japan. But hey, I have one less competition now, a very strong one too.

I don't personally like Gunbird's atmosphere either. But as far as a challenge, it's pretty high up there. Seems harder than Dragon Blaze.tviks wrote:Heh, too bad that I find that game just too lame to seriously get into it. Hell, I guess it is safe to say that I don't care about anything else than Gradius. And R-type.
