Bubble Bobble Bootleg: is it Jamma?

Post by repuken2 »

Hello everybody,

i recently bought and arcade cabinet aswell as some jamma boards, and particularly a Bubble Bobble Bootleg board, wich i suspect it's not a jamma compatible one, but i'd like a more expert opinion before attempting to connect it or making an adapter for it.

Here i've attached some pictures of the pcb.

maybe somebody can advice me on the type of connection.

Thanks a lot,
Regards.

Yes, that looks like bootleg JAMMA.

It's not JAMMA.... If you plug it into a cab you'll very quickly cook the power supply.

The following is probably the right pinout (note that bootlegs can vary)

Thanks a lot for your help! Greatly appreciated!!.

The guys at jammaplus forums also told me that it's not jamma, that its the 56 pin bootleg.

So i'll have to build my jamma adapter, i wanna play that baby ASAP!!!

Lot of thanks to you all! Cheerz!!

I had one of these. It didn't seem to play that well. Some of the gameplay elements seemed a bit off.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

Yep that's true, for what i recall from the old days, i saw many bootleg versions, none of those had the monster firing anything and many key elements where missing like special powerups and items, but well at least i could get one for myself, still i'll be looking forward an original pcb. Cheerz.

There's a thread over at Arcade Otaku where a user is creating a patch to fix the various issues that bootleg BB has.
