Hello all..
haven't been on here in a long while(lurked allot), just getting back into allot of stuff. anyways..
I have a Genesis model #1 using RGB SCART to> csy2100 component.
I'm basically just testing it on my widescreen Tube before i get my Sony PVM 1954q
Here is the cable i'm using
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sega-Megadrive- ... 6939448%26
I'm getting flipping, scrolling picture, or what you might call tracking problems like you would get on an old VCR.
. The color is also off for some reason and i tried it in two different component spots. It is overly green !
Two games worked after they scrolled through the openings, Wonder Boy MW and Insector-X for some reason.
tried it on
- Genesis #1 US
- Megadrive #1 JPN
Could this be a common problem with the Cable quality or the converter itself ?
I haven't tried this in another TV yet but i have a feeling something is wrong here.
I'm sure TV's and monitors have a bearing on this, i'm using a DishNW(RCA D34W20) widescreen CRT (480p/1080i)
I opened up the SCART cable and there are no CAPS, should there be ?
I can post pictures or video of the scrolling flicker thing and the cable itself if necessary
I'm preparing to by a SONY PVM this week so i'm getting the necessary equipment together.
I'm just not sure this is common or there is something wrong with the cables ( or the TV's fault)
thanks for the help... i searched FWI, really didn't find a similar problem besides for suggestion of CAPS?

The cable is supposed to have resistors on the RGB lines to bring down the video levels.
If your PVM requires composite sync (instead of composite video), the RGB cable needs to be wired properly on the console side of the cable (using the proper sync pin and adding a capacitor).

The CSY2100 works fine with my region modded PAL MD and BVM. The SCART RGB cable is one I made from an old PS2 RGB cable.

Thanks guys, I got the SONY PVM 1954Q and so far
It is working amazing with my Genesis! This thing rocks, so far just adjusted he chroma up to about %75, slight bit up on brightness and backed down aperture. I also tested
My sega cd and pcengine. I only have composite for my
Pcengine but it still looks good, somehow the composite signal is very good on it.
The picture is y a small amount off center, there are extra space lines on the right and the bottom.
I'll post some pictures in a bit, on my phone now.
Isn't working on my TV.
It works great on my Sony PVM. I looked up the ps2
Scart and the seems to have the resistors/caps in it.
But that might just be the one I saw, not sure yet if that is why it doesn't work on the regular TV. I still have to test it on another LCD. No matter for now though.

Yup my scart cable doesn't have that, might be why itFudoh wrote:The cable is supposed to have resistors on the RGB lines to bring down the video levels.

Here is what the picture looks like, you can see the blue on the right and bottom side as well as a small bit on the left.
Not sure my camera is picking it up perfectly..
Sorry if pictures are big, i can change that. wanted to show the detail
I have no idea how to change this as i can't find an option for it.
If necessary i'll create another topic for this. I'm trying to search for the answer but haven't found it yet, just found the manual.
Chroma up (a bit too yellow)

<p>
Chroma normal in middle.. camera makes it look slightly more bright.
