Sony charger for controllers

Post by neorichieb1971 »

I have one of these -

Its fantastic. Does the job great, never had a controller go dead on bomberman since. However, I hate switching the clips from controllers to controllers. I don't suppose anyone could suggest where you could get the clips from without buying another unit?

For some reason these are hard to find in the UK, wondering if they are released (officially) at all.

I am thinking you would have to write to Sony in the territories its released. If your reading this can you tell me if you country has this official charging docking unit? I bought it from a amazon reseller who has since demised.

Cheers. At least that way I can use a buddy from that country to receive them for me.

regards,

Richie.

I haven't seen that Sony branded PS3 charging controller dock sold here in the USA. I should check my local Best Buy store & see if such a 1st-party peripheral is sold. I've seen such other various 3rd-party PS3 charging docks for sale though. Does it charge the Sony PS3 1st-gen Six-Axis controllers without a hitch? Those PS3 SA controllers are surprisingly quite light in terms of overall weight. I recall there was a time when SCEI sold such PS3s with a single Six-Axis controller included before caving in and releasing the newfangled Dual Shock 3 controllers (because the notion was that the dual shock motors would lead to possible interference issues).

Yes, all official PS3 controllers charge and very quickly too.

Shame the thing is useless without the clips though. I have 4 controllers and 4 machines. So I have to take off and swap the clips quite alot. Only 2 are supplied. Which is cheap really, they should include 4 at least.

Apparently, Sony does distribute it's own 1st-party PS3 charging controller station in the USA:

On Frys.com site, it'd be listed here: http://www.frys.com/product/6559143?sit ... IN_RSLT_PG

It's priced at a mere $19.99 USD for the taking (which is quite reasonable IMO). Unfortunately, it comes with two clips provided and not four as wisdom would dictate (if one already has four PS3 gamepads to begin with). Hmmm.....
