Multiple consoles to Sony PVM-2030 (US NTSC)

Post by c0dehunter »

Hello all,

Ok, my VGA to Sony PVM-2030 is a success, now I need to know how I can connect this CRT to real consoles, specifically PlayStation 1.
I am aware that I need to buy a Female SCART to 25way dsub connector, which plugs in to the back of my PVM-2030 and would accept RGB SCART cables made specifically for various consoles.

questions:
So now all I need is to get a PlayStation 1 RGB SCART, and connect it's 20pin male connector to the end of the female adapter cable already attached to my PVM, is this correct?

And for other consoles, I need to by their own specific RGB SCART cables, true?

Thanks for your comments.

You will need a allready made cable like this one: http://www.retrogamingcables.com/sony-p ... erter.html or another one home made that do the job. You don't need oficial scart rgb cables but look for good quality third party RGB cables, and yes you will need one cable for each console. Better grab a good scart switch box (with rgb input in all scarts) for have all the cables conected, as that "Sony PVM 25 Way Dsub to female European Scart/Péritel converter" will not last long with puting and taking the cables off all the time.

Thanks for your response. Would you be able to provide a link for an online store which sells RGB SCART for different consoles, and has a RGB selector in stock as well?

Hello Overkill, yes I'm located in the US. I am going to order those cables online and hopefully get everything connected soon. Right now I have connected my PVM via a custom made RGB to VGA to my modern PC for emulation.

Ok, good luck then. Remember for more acurate video/audio emulation use the new groovymame with an arcadeVga/Crt Emu driver or soft15hz
