like i said, that seems unlikely to be the actual input lag on the display. i -think- that the deinterlacing setting doesn't really deactivate the deinterlacing processing, but is a setting to change between a field scaling and a less shaky deinterlacing mode. according to fudoh most to all lcd displays with 480i support should always have at least about 2 frames of lag. maybe this one's actually different though...
i'll do some further check-ups when i'm home today though. didn't have much time yesterday and haven't even done a direct comparison to the pvm for low res games yet.
edit: indeed, the monitor will deinterlace interlaced materials anyways, even if the deinterlacing is set to off. in any case the deinterlacing is applied to 240p signals as well, so the deinterlace function should be turned on for those as well because if it's set to off the picture will be really blurry and look like one of those bad emulation filters.
240p through the vp30 looks pretty good on the p402 too
scratch that, it looks great! makes me wonder if i should get a framemeister after all.
the only problem i have with the monitor is that the panel has a lot of impurity issues. most of these are only noticable when i'm standing directly before the panel on a purely black screen though, so it's not that bad. worse is that it has alot of banding, but that usually only shows on spots with a particularly low level of brightness and is not that noticable and can almost always be alleviated by decreasing the brightness setting.
all in all i'm perfectly satisfied. i'd just be nice if it had some more hdmi inputs though, so i might have to buy a switch sometime
