Finally clearing the game with that 3 in the millions digit was a magical moment, it was like climbing over a wall in my mind.
The score progression was almost comical >.>;. I stopped posting in the high score thread after the second time.ChainsawGuitarSP wrote:soul crushing failures
Daifukkatsu is a very hard game to like. If you manage to get to a point of enough understanding of how it even works, it ends up being a good deal of fun.KAI wrote:1-ALLed Daifukkatsu 1.5 strong after 2 credits. I'm still not liking it.

What always gets me is how many fourth or fifth stages are harder than the fifth or sixth stages in a lot of games. Mars Matrix, Ikaruga, Dodonpachi, Triggerheart Exelica, Under Defeat, just off the top of my head.Volteccer_Jack wrote:PS--Why is the second boss harder than 90% of the rest of the game? I dun get it.
There's an old phrase in Japanese gaming: "2面のボスがやたら強い" which means basically that if you can clear the second boss, you're pretty good.Volteccer_Jack wrote:Why is the second boss harder than 90% of the rest of the game? I dun get it.

I tried using save states at tricky parts. I honestly just think some people aren't meant to be good at these games. I wouldn't be stuck at stage three if that wasn't the case.
DaiOuJou is pretty brutal as it is, honestly. If you're colourblind, I imagine the generally muted colour scheme all around won't make it any easier for you. I honestly haven't found a ship I really like in DOJ; none of the shot types seem to click, so I've only made it to stage 5 like once using B-S (and a whole lotta bombing).XoPachi wrote:Being severely colorblind doesn't help.
They practice, pay attention to where they made mistakes and come up with strategies to insure those mistakes don't happen again. If every time you play you die in a different spot, you're not paying attention. Maybe this style of game isn't for you, but I think it's more likely your approach.XoPachi wrote:I read the strategies a while ago. Nothing helped. Save abuse didn't either. I think 8 months, Hell, ONE month would be more than enough time to beat this. At least the first loop. And again, I do think there are multiple degrees of talent involved. 1 week? No prior experience? Yeah, natural talent or they're lying. If you have none then you're SOL.
I have a save the beginning of stage 5 for example. I still die at the part immediately after Raiko. This has not changed since the save was made sometime in July. Don't even get me started on Hibachi. I don't understand how people beat her on one life. It's impossible, but people manage it! HOW!?
I suggest you swallow your pride and start chucking bombs. The pros don't do it because they're pros and have figured out ways to succeed without using bombs in DDP, but you aren't there yet. Try playing a run where you don't bomb at all, then note where you died and use bombs in each of those places for your next runs. Eventually you'll no longer need them. And if you keep dying in new spots every time, you're still not paying attention.I can't clear DDP either. I get to the stage 3 boss and start dying unless I bomb which I don't like doing because pros rarely do it.
