Downloaded the demo and bought it. Look awesome running it through the SLG3000 (scanlines).
@ BrooksBishop,
Things I've noticed just on the top of my head while playing on demonic:
Wow the music is great.
Have you considered doing another shot type and different moving speeds? It would be great to have movement that is not as fast while shooting and not as slow while in focus.
The arrow indicator to show the location of the boss is overlapping the character, hit box, and bullets. There were times I had to move in front of it to avoid accidentally getting hit.
I agree with Softdrink 117 that there are parts in some stages that the bullets appear invisible because of the background (like stage 1 boss). For me, the bullets look too bright/white and they tend to bleed into each other. That's my take on it.
Great job on this!

I just wanted to say that the little hearts flying everywhere when grazing makes me giggle. It's like the character is thinking OH NOES and having a heart attack.

I wish that'd been one of the references I'd written in there - in all honesty, that was actually one of the few bits I put down as a placeholder and we ended up keeping because it was just so damn goofy. There's plenty of nods to other things throughout the game though. :Djoeboto wrote:elicia dialog in stage 1 doot do doo. reads like mayuri from steins gate i presume? :P
(Brooks has linked me here a few times, so I figured I'd go and set up my own account. I'm the guy responsible for all the silly dialogue. 'sup guys?)

Glad you like it! Jesse (our musician/janitor) did a ton of work on all original music, and put up with my soundtrack direction the entire time, lol.Tyjet wrote: Wow the music is great.
Not to say too much, but I think you'll be happy with the upcoming additions.Tyjet wrote: Have you considered doing another shot type and different moving speeds? It would be great to have movement that is not as fast while shooting and not as slow while in focus.

I'll take care of the arrow indicator in the update as well.
I'll try and adjust this some more. Thinking of altering the contrast on the bullet source texture a tiny bit, which would change the the amount of color in relation to white.Tyjet wrote: I agree with Softdrink 117 that there are parts in some stages that the bullets appear invisible because of the background (like stage 1 boss). Yeah. I really love playing on Lunatic and getting close to a dense pattern. Heart fireworks!Jeneki wrote:I just wanted to say that the little hearts flying everywhere when grazing makes me giggle. It's like the character is thinking OH NOES and having a heart attack.

Hello BrooksBishop, I cannot beat the girl stage 1 boss on normal arcade mode and it takes forever trying to beat her. I think the boss battle is to long. Need a easy difficulty setting on arcade mode. Still disappointed about no p2p scoreboards. If you know how to do it and you don't then your being lazy. Any dev who makes a hi-score based game and don't include p2p scoreboards doesn't care. When the game came out you could of left your Xbox 360 on for 12-48 hours. Too late now the games out and done. How are the sales doing? over 200 yet?. I hope you make your money back it's not a bad game, better than 95% of the shit on XBLIG's.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble, Alfred.
I will say though, that Normal Mode was the one I built primarily and balanced the game around. Because of this, Arcade Mode is actually quite a big step up in difficulty from Normal Mode. Perhaps beating the game on Normal Mode first to learn all the enemy movements and bullet patterns would be beneficial.
As far as getting the p2p scoreboards going, I'm disappointed too. But there was actually a lot that was planned for the game that didn't make it in, and I don't necessarily think the fact I made the decision to cut so much that I could technically implement makes me lazy. I just think at some point I had to get realistic about what it would take to actually launch this thing in a reasonable time frame.
That said, I'm not ruling it out for an update!
