This is a tool-assisted playthrough of Touhou 12.8 Great Fairy Wars. More specifically, Route A-1 on Lunatic.
The goal of the run was to beat as many spell patterns as possible without using the game's ice feature.

The Raiden Project (Content) played on my Plastastion 2. This is one of the most cherished items in my collection. Released for the Playstation in 1995, The Raiden Project Collection contains very near arcade-perfect versions of the legendary Raiden I and Raiden II made by Seibu Kaihatsu. The best extra in this collection, in my opinion, is the possibility to choose between the original or remixed music (and I prefer the remixes that were very good). In this video, I show the contents of this collection and quickly play a little of both games.

I indicate this beautiful collection for any appreciator of good shmups and also, of course, for fans of the legendary Raiden series. This collection brings into a single disc three great games: Raiden Fighters (1996), Raiden Fighters 2 (1997) and Raiden Fighters Jet (1998). The Raiden Fighters series is a spinoff of the Raiden series that was released for arcade by Seibu Kaihatsu. The main distinguishing feature of this series to the original is the possibility of choice of several ships each with unique characteristics. Another notable difference is the possibility to collect during the game power-ups providing until two auxiliary ships (sidekicks) very useful during frantic battles. In this video, I show the contents of this collection and quickly play a little of three games.

Developed by G.Rev (founded by former employees of Taito's arcade division) and that worked in respected shmups such as Raystorm, G-Darius, Ikaruga (programming and background graphic design), Gradius V (programming and background graphic design), Border Down and others. Under Defeat was launched in Japan for Arcade in 2005 and Sega Dreamcast in 2006 and now officially the first time outside of japan for american Playstation 3 in this HD Deluxe Edition (retail and digital PSN version). Under Defeat is one of the most beautiful modern shmups with some really awesome effects like smoke, explosions (and some others) and nice music. Another differential is the possibility of diagonal movements and well even using two analog sticks (configurable through the menu control), being one to control the helicopter and the other to direct the shot.

Unless the Moss release Raiden V, with this fourth title I finally got all the games of the legendary Raiden series that I always wanted to play. I own The Raiden Project for Playstation (collection whose contents are Raiden I and Raiden II in identical versions of the original arcades), Raiden III for Playstation 2, Raiden Fighter Aces for Xbox 360 and now I own too Raiden IV for Xbox 360. All these games on disc. I have not finished yet Raiden IV, but as far as I played I'm enjoying a lot. Although, similar to Raiden III in structure, I notice that Raiden IV has been enhanced in several ways including, of course, the graphics (Raiden for the first time in HD!) and gameplay. The soundtrack this time, in addition to his own compositions also contains tracks taken from the classic Raiden games, providing a sensational tribute to this legendary shmup series.

Sine Mora (HD) - Part 1 (Playstation 3 version)

Since the optimal Soldner X-2 - Final Prototype, the US Playstation 3 was devoid of new shoot'em up games. Fortunately, in the last days were released for the system (by Playstation Network) the shmups Sine Mora (previously only for the Xbox 360) and more recently Under Defeat HD Deluxe Edition (first U.S. release). Sine Mora is an ambitious shmup that has a dense history and beautiful graphics. Something very positive in this game is the variety of gameplay in story mode where you use several different pilots, with several different ships, each with their own weapons.

This is very good lateral shmup with smooth gameplay and an interesting soundtrack with vocal chords that pleased me (somewhat resembles the soundtrack of Darius Gaiden).

Shienryu (HD) - Intro + Stage 1

Shienryu is a good vertical shmup that seems to have been heavily inspired by the games of Raiden series, but without the same quality of the latter. In any case, it´'s a fine shmup available on the PSN for Playstation 3 and the music of the first stage is phenomenal!
