Hudson "Shooting Collection"(GBA) announced

Post by zubiac »

Yep,it's part 5 of the "Hudson collections" for GBA.
Releasedate:19th of Jan.2006
features: Star Force, Star Soldier and Hector '87
costs: 26 USD/22 Euros
release only in Japan so far.

I'll get it to give it a try on GameBoy-Player with Hori-pad and my DS.
It's cheap enough for that.

off-topic:
the other collections are:
Vol. 1 Bomberman Collection (Bomberman I + II)
Vol. 2 Lode Runner Collection (Lode Runner + Championship Lode Runner)
Vol. 3 Action Collection (Challenger + Meikyuu Kumikyoku)
Vol. 4 Nazotoki Collection (Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom + Nuts & Milk)
Vol. 6 Adventure Island Collection (Adventure Island I, II, III, IV)

mmh...f*ck that I'll get all of them.
All Adventure Islands on one cart=roXxX0r
The "Nazotoki Collection" looks also cool...I Love Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom
War is in my Heart -- Death is by my Side

You mean, the three Famicom games, of which Star Soldier was already in the Famicom Mini series?

Err, I think I'll sjip this one.

Well, I already have Star Force on Tecmo Classic Arcade, and Hector '87 is my least favorite Hudson shmup-and Star Soldier is already available on the GBA, so I definately won't be getting this collection!

Talk about pointless; Hudson! :?

Hmm...is this the same set of games as this old SNES release?

If so, seems like an odd lot to dig up in this day and age...

AFIK there is no Adventure Island collection, although I wish there were! I've heard that the Hudson Selection re-make of Adventure Island is pretty sweet, though.

I guess a Star Soldier collection would be nice for the GBA or SP-unless you've already got all the PCE games in the series. The only one I still don't have is Star Parodier.

Umm. Read the first post again, one of the games announced is Takahashi Menjin no Boukenjima collection. It will have all four NES games! I'll probably go for that and the shooting collection. I'm so glad I didn't get the Famicom Minis of Adventure Island or Star Soldier. BTW, if you don't know Japanese, the Japanese version of Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom is almost impossible to play. My guess is that all of these games are ports of the NES versions, so I'm probably going to skip the Lode Runner collection.

Vol 4. will also have Binary Land in it. http://gameboy.ign.com/articles/654/654991p1.html

zubiac, you forgot to put the US title for Meikyuu Kumikyoku. Meikyuu Kumikyoku is the Japanese name for Milon's Secret Castle.

Hector and Star Force are bad...SF was cool at one time, but it's so aged and boring now. Star Soldier's cool, but meh..I'd rather buy the AI collection!

Binary Land and Nuts and Milk! YES! I'm probably the world's biggest Nuts and Milk fan.

I find it very odd how the collection with Milon's Secret Castle is called "Action collection", since Milon's Secret Castle more of an action puzzle game. From what I tried, Challenger seems to be a pretty cool game. I might get that one, but there is also a b/w GB Milon, though it seems to be very similar to the NES version minus the color.

Cool, thanks for that info BrianC! :D

I hope these GBA collections keep coming; although I've never heard of Binary Land or Nuts and Milk.

I need to get an e-Reader; I am the world's biggest Donkey Kong 3 fan! It's still my fav. Donkey Kong game to this day!

Well, not much incentive for me to get it, since I already have Star Force, Star Soldier, and "Starship Hector".

On a related note, I thought Star Force was by tecmo. :/ Anyone wanna shed me some light on this? ^^;

It was, but the FC version was ported by Hudson.

Kind of the same deal as the Lode Runners. The originals were from a different company, but they were ported by Hudson.

So how do these games look on the GBA screen. I went ahead and ordered it mostly because I LOVE the GBA and desperately wanting more vertically scrolling shooters. Hope it isn't blur-city.
