Hardware questions about the "original" Famicom...
I'm talking about the older red and white model, with the controllers that are wired in. Are there any other ports on this thing that you can hook up the NES light gun, or other NES controllers, to? And why do people refer to this as the Hyundai model-did Hyundai have a hand in manufacturing this unit??

yes, it got a 2-two 15-pin connector to which you connect a Lightgun or a joystick. I never found out though if a joystick connected to this port is assigned to player 1 or player 2.... Same connector can be found on the AV famicom (while missing from the Nes 2).Are there any other ports on this thing that you can hook up the NES light gun, or other NES controllers, to?

it's the Famicom EXP port on the side of the unit, it's designed for peripherals and controllers. It can control both players but usually defaults to Player 1. Some devices have both players, or some controllers have an EXP port on the controller, allowing you to daisy chain another controller to the 1st, allowing 2 players to play off of the 1 port.
It also supports multitaps.
