A married man should be able to view any printed or digitally displayed content that he so chooses as long as it stays within the confines of human decency and respects the reasonable boundaries of his significant other. Am i right or wrong?

You are correct, sir!

This clause makes your statement too subjective/ambiguous: "and respects the reasonable boundaries of his significant other". This means everyone will have a different answer depending upon what their significant other deems as reasonable. For example, does your significant other buy into this recent fad of mental cheating is just as bad as physical cheating?

Thank you.

I'm pretty sure that doesn't actually mean anything.

However, if everyone here agrees with you here and you show the poll results to your wife, she's still going to be pissed at you.[/i]

I have two differing thoughts on this issue:

1. She's your wife. If you want to look at some pussy, look at hers. If she has a problem, you are in the wrong, because that's just the way the universe works, fair or not.

2. You can look at as much porn as you want, as long as you quit with the fucking vague thread titles :P

Marriage without porn makes about as much sense as marriage with cheating, i.e. none at all.

Stick by your wife for 10+ years and, if she's reasonable at all, she'll put up with all kinds of crap, like spending too much on videogames!

Well my girl tried to kick my ass last night, because on the way out of the pub an ex from 7 years ago - SEVEN years for fuck's sake - stopped me to chat for a minute or two. Cue the 'you still fancy her don't you?' conversation. So no, porn is definitely out of this relationship. Though I must admit it's never really been my thang anyways.

Whoa, you guys make to many assumptions.

Actually she got angry at me because of Seanbaby.com. Seanbaby put these nude pictures of women up next to letters that fanatical christians had sent him to be funny and she got offended that i thought it was funny and acted like i was looking at porn.

And NO - i wasn't gonna show this to my wife. I'm not stupid!

Lastly Prof. Ganson - cheating on your wife is not cool. I hope your not serious.

That's actually why i said 'reasonable boundaries'. I was hoping to allude ot the fact that it wasn't porn.

Take a closer look at what I said: I said that cheating on your wife makes NO SENSE! :)

Agreed. pr0n won't spoon feed you when you're old. Stick with your wife, and ditch the stash if you have one. I've always felt looking at pr0n isn't fair to your girlfriend / wife. That's just me though.

I dunno about all that. My buddy Frank just turned 60. I've known him since '91. In that time he has watched filthy porn every single day and his wife has gotten filthily banged every single night. She couldn't be happier and neither could he. They've been married since 1971.

I had a girlfriend with a big porn fascination once. She'd have been a keeper if she hadn't moved to SF at around the same time I was moving to Seattle.

Generalising pornography like that is rather simplistic; not to mention crass.

I was speaking of circuitface's specific situation. I don't personally have a problem with people looking at porn (neither does my wife), but apparently his wife does. If she has a problem, he has a problem. Such is the way of the world. Actually, I think she's being uptight.

Here's the link to the material in question:

Looks like (extremely mild) porn to me.

Personally I don't condone it, but really and truly, you should be able to look at whatever you want to look at as long as it isn't negatively affecting your relationship or those around you.

The correct way to deal with the situation is simple. Smack that bitch up. Quick smack with your knuckles should send her back to the kitchen with a renewed zeal for servitude and silence.

Er.. Not really.

No, what you really need to do is somehow point out that while you were laughing at something that happened to feature a nude woman next to it, you were not:

1) surfing for porn
2) buying porn
3) watching porn
4) letching at other women
5) flirting at other women
or
6) actually seeing other women
or other examples like:
7) getting drunk with your friends, casting beer onto the floor and expecting her to pick it up
8 ) coming back late from a bar smelling of smoke and whisky, then throwing up on the sofa/dog

So in the scope of things for her to feel insecure or angry about, it's pretty damn far down the list. She overreacted.
